Partially Funded[edit]

Hello @CoachAni thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed and approved the grant in the amount of 43,320 XOF (3,660 USD) with the following recommendations:

While your proposal is commendable in addressing the gender gap in Wikimedia participation, there are a few points that could be considered for improvement:

  • We recommend that the team reviews the budget items related to administrative fees and for prizes and awards.
  • There is no clarity regarding the connections between the Wiki women in Red and Women for sustainability. It is important to provide details regarding the connections you are trying to have on this project.
  • Given the limited experience of the organiser, it is important that you consider providing details regarding the roles that the project advisors will have and how you intend to leverage their organising experience to achieve the goals of this project.
  • The proposal outlines specific metrics for the project, which is excellent. But do consider providing details regarding how you plan to assess the impact of your activities. For instance, consider preparing a before and after survey and feedback from potential participants.

Thank you so much Yop for the recommendations. They are well noted and appreciated. We will do well to consider these recommendations in the program.
  • We recommend that the team reviews the budget items related to administrative fees and for prizes and awards- The team will review the budget to suit the allocated funds.
  • There is no clarity regarding the connections between the Wiki women in Red and Women for sustainability. -Promoting women's involvement in Wikipedia editing is a step towards gender equality. When women are empowered with the skills to participate in online knowledge-sharing platforms like Wikipedia, it can help break down barriers and stereotypes that have historically limited women's engagement in tech and information-related fields. For us joining an existing campaign is the way we learn and leverage on existing resources that these campaigns have made available. Our organisation is highly focused on women empowerment and we believe that this is one way of empowering women within our network and community.
    • Given the limited experience of the organiser, it is important that you consider providing details regarding the roles that the project advisors will have and how you intend to leverage their organising experience to achieve the goals of this project. Project advisers will provide advise and guidance in the design and implementation of project. They will also connect us with experienced Wikipedians to provide mentorship for selected women after the training. They will also guide us to create other useful resources for the program.
    • The proposal outlines specific metrics for the project, which is excellent. But do consider providing details regarding how you plan to assess the impact of your activities. For instance, consider preparing a before and after survey and feedback from potential participants.- We will ensure to include before ad after project feedback and other ways to measure impact of the project.
