Overall Positive Feedback

Well done to the project team for taking on this initiative to work through surfacing answers to complex questions, which could benefit community. Being inquisitive and finding new communities is always welcome development for the growth of the movement. YPam (WMF) (talk) 11:23, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback For Improvement[edit]

The project team has provided some details regarding the overall idea for what you seek to accomplish on this project, however some more details are necessary to better understand the how these goals and objectives will be achieved. For instance, the existing landscape of the contributors, institutional partners (Art+Feminism) are not listed as a part of this study. This could lead to a situation where the efforts are repeated without being validated. Has the project team considered this?

It might be useful for the team to approach this proposal not only as a research study but as an opportunity to prepare an action plan since there has been prior engagement within the geographical region. This means the team could leverage the data and information that already exists, to then develop a detailed and comprehensive research plan with clear output and outcomes. These outputs and outcomes could form the basis for an implementation plan that can be effectively delivered. YPam (WMF) (talk) 11:24, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @YPam (WMF)
We thank the team for their expected return.
The purpose of this research could lead us to identify interested creolophones in these regions. We could invite them to participate in the Wiki Kreyolo campaign initiated by the User group Haiti in 2022 and even see if there is the possibility of creating a group in these regions in order to increase the presence of Wikimedia there.
On the other hand, the team's proposal pushes us to look for the presence of Wikimedians in the Caribbean region, but there is no group present and active, preferably a few original Wikimedians belonging to certain groups in Europe. . Personally I try to contact the group of Wikimedians of the Caribbean User Group and Feminism + Folklore, I have not received any response. In this case, if someone in the team could refer us, that would make us very happy.
Thanks! Kitanago (talk) 19:29, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Kitanago First, we will be happy to support you with making the connections you need.
Regarding the project goals and objectives, it would be great for the team to provide more details on the specific goals and objectives of the project, as mentioned in the feedback. For instance, the project team mentions that pages will be translated, what pages will be translated, why would those specific pages be translated and how will they help the team achieve the research objectives? Additionally, it will be very helpful for the team to provide more details in the table that details the research plan - which communities, individuals and institutions are you targeting and how will you know that your research is a success?
Please note also that Movement Strategy Grants are meant to enable the development of an implementation plan, as the feedback mentions. This means deepening your insights and understanding of existing engagements in the region is critical for developing a strong plan. The team should consider these in expanding on the details on the project plan. We will be happy to meet with the team to discuss the feedback in detail, if that will be helpful YPam (WMF) (talk) 09:40, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @YPam (WMF) for the comments and reviews, I just added the missing information in the project page. I remain available if there are other concerns. Kitanago (talk) 23:23, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request for attention[edit]

Hello @YPam (WMF)! The group is thinking about the next Wiki kreyolo month event which will be organized during next October. The result of this research would be a key element to help us better plan a first Wiki convention. We understand that the work of the team is immense, would it be possible to take a special look at our research proposal in order to help us move forward surely? Cordialy.
