Report accepted[edit]

Hello Avicenno, Fjmustak, and Wikimedians of the Levant User Group! First of all, thank you so much for submitting this final report and for your work in terms of the user group annual plan. I appreciate the efforts you’ve put into organizing different Wikimedia activities, raising awareness of Wikimedia projects, as well as into building partnerships with various groups and communities. I have reviewed your report and have the following questions and comments:

  • Kudos to all editors and especially to Donia for creating over 100 valuable medial articles!
  • I’m glad to see collaborations with different Wikimedia communities, such as with the Armenian Wikimedians - my home community! When will you organize other collaboration projects?
  • In the proposal you mentioned that besides edit-a-thons, you would also organize learning sessions at the Hashemite University. Have you done so? What were the topics of the learning sessions?
  • How is your annual plan affected by the COVID-19 pandemic? Are there any major changes in the planned online activities?

Thanks again for your contributions to the Wikimedia Projects! I have accepted your report and expense documents. This grant is now complete. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:03, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DSaroyan (WMF): Thanks for your review. Learning sessions for editing Wikipedia skills was held in collaboration with Zain Entrepreneurship platform here live video recorded. We have organized a previous collaboration with Wikimedia Arminia and we are still in contact with Arminian chapter to choose the appropriate time for the second version. Some administrative changes in Hashemite University delayed our Wikipedia education program activities inside the campus for 3 months because the previous president of the university who was supportive of our activities have retired and the student-based activities were suspended until the new president been chosen and his new policy can be understood. Now we are continuing our Wikipedia education program activities online and I have started a collaboration with Nahno (one of the biggest voluntary work platforms in Jordan) in order to encourage University students to translate articles about covid19 to Arabic under Hashemite University Wikipedia education program team supervision here. With regards to annual plan affection, I think @عباد ديرانية: Abbad can give you further details. Best regards--Avicenno (talk) 17:55, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Avicenno, thanks so much for your responses! I am glad that you will continue collaborating with Wikimedia affiliates and communities. I'm sorry that your plans and activities at the Hashemite Universit have been postponed due to the governance changes and COVID-19 pandemic. However, I'm sure that you will accomplish them in the near future! Could you please fix the link to the list of articles created by the Hashemite University Wikipedia education program participants; the link seems broken. Thanks again for your work and contributions; I'm wishing you and your community all the best! --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:44, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
