Maybe should be done in upstream? --Mys_721tx(talk) 06:50, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
It seems to me that this message is meta-specific and not supported by TWN. Done therefore. --MF-W 15:55, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

{{editprotected}} Please change text of MediaWiki:Beyond the web/ru into

(unification with others). Thanks --Kaganer (talk) 14:26, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

@Kaganer: Isn't that the same as the current version? --Glaisher (talk) 15:59, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
These same ;) But first letter in the "upper case" (for unification with other sidebar section headers). --Kaganer (talk) 21:15, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Done Thanks. diff. In the future, can you please use new sections or place the edit requests on the talk pages of the pages that need to be edited instead of here? That would help with keeping this page a tad more organized, I think. Thanks. --Glaisher (talk)
Ok. --Kaganer (talk) 16:56, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

For those not knowing it already, this link is quite mysterious: how about changing the label to just "blog"? --Nemo 06:42, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Chapters to Affiliates

Any objections to changing Chapters to Affiliates and link to Special:MyLanguage/Wikimedia movement affiliates to be more inclusive of thematic organizations and user groups? --Varnent (talk)(COI) 02:58, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

That page is very dispersive... The first N screenfuls are a sort of newsletter, the remaining sections are impossible to browse due to lack of TOC and finally they don't have any content, just links. Is there an alternative which is as informative as the current target, which has a TOC and lists all contacts? We get many complaints that chapters are hard to reach, let's not make contacts harder to find. :) --Nemo 06:45, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
We can perhaps make that page easier to navigate - but it is unlikely we will have one page with all affiliates contact info in one place (some WUGs do not have "primary contact info" and it changes rapidly for other affiliates). Although the current chapters page is often outdated and does serves that purpose very well either. It is also, in my opinion, much harder to navigate and find things on (a reformatting of that page is on its way because we have heard that a lot). I would personally prefer a clean page that sends them to their interested group than a very text-heavy page. Right now that affiliates page is the closest we have and increasingly used by WMF and AffCom as a "one stop place" to find all recognized affiliates. I worry about delaying a change until we have something everyone likes, as that will not likely ever happen. That page was created based on requests from affiliates to have a logo-based directory and not a text-based one. Based on my conversations with folks when that page was developed, it seems this is one of those "ask five Wikimedians and get five answers on what we should do" topics. Is there any reason not to link to that page and build it up rather than continuing to just send to the messy chapters page? I agree the affiliates page needs more work - but should another new directory be built or should we work from that one? I will work on adding a navigation to that page - which is easy to do. Maintaining contact information in one place for nearly 75 diverse entities has proven very tricky to do (and generally is provided on the pages the logos link to), is there anything else that we could place on there which would make it more useful? --Varnent (talk)(COI) 21:08, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
As an aside, I am in part asking these questions as the topic recently came up while discussing the wmf:Local_chapters page. Maintaining contact info for the chapters is not an issue, but doing so for the WUGs is appearing to be one, given they do not have as formal a structure. For many of them, the contact is their Meta-Wiki page, and any other forms of contact are more personal in nature - and changes more rapidly. Should we be providing them generic email addresses to simplify that? Should they be required to maintain a mailing address like chapters are? It seems that would be adding too much formal structure to WUGs, so I am not sure what the answer is yet. --Varnent (talk)(COI) 21:13, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Translations

Could someone change

  • "Meta:Requests and proposals|Requests-text" to "Special:MyLanguage/Meta:Requests and proposals|Requests-text"
  • "affiliates-url|Affiliates-text" to "Special:MyLanguage/Wikimedia movement affiliates|Affiliates-text"

and move

Kind regards, --Brackenheim (talk) 09:54, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

You're welcome ;-) --Brackenheim (talk) 17:37, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
