Meta talk:Wikimedia CH/Cronos

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Looks cool[edit]

I am not involved but if you can make finally an efficient calendar I will be pleased...--Alexmar983 (talk) 22:46, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Moving Meta:Cronos to Wikimedia_CH/Meta:Cronos ?[edit]

Could we rename this page so it is under Wikimedia CH, or do we risk breaking something if we do so ?--Flor WMCH (talk) 16:00, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Flor WMCH: Yep, feel free to move to fit your needs. --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 15:42, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Flor WMCH: Hi! :) I noticed that we are under Meta:Wikimedia CH/Cronos but its parent page Meta:Wikimedia CH does not exist. In your opinion is this a feature or a bug? Maybe we have to transfer under Wikimedia CH but I'm unsure now. --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 10:06, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I am unsure about this... I'll ping @Ilario: as he might have a more satisfactory answer to this than I do.--Flor WMCH (talk) 10:42, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Spring cleaning[edit]

@Flor WMCH and Ilario: Hello everybody! After noticing some conspicuous interest raised from the Community Wishlist Survey 2021 someone noted that I was investing too much efforts in explaining what we worked on. Definitely my fault, maybe little pro-active in making everything clear on the first try. That's why now I tried to make the project more understandable for everyone with some changes I want to share and discuss with you:

Meta:Wikimedia CH/Cronos
adopting a simple and clean project homepage
Meta:Wikimedia CH/Cronos/About
adopting a simple and clean about page with some goals and directions (stub)
Meta:Wikimedia CH/Cronos/Reference
our internal nerdy reference can stay here :D

I like it because, somehow, now it makes me even more proud in having participated in this. I mean, I was already proud but now it's easy to explain to the others what we have done and what we are doing. Does it give you the same feeling? Cheers --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 23:27, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Participation to the "Coolest tool award"?[edit]

@Ilario: Coolest Tool Award... uh? :D --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 11:26, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Scope?[edit]

The page says that the calendar is for "Wikimedia events". Could it also include internal things like office hours, consultations, elections? Logo votes? How about feature deployments? Things lasting multiple days, where the start and end are particularly relevant? Is the primary purpose for upcoming things, or could this also hold recent history bits, news and announcements that could be sorted by topic? In certain areas, there are heavily overlapping "news and announcements" sections (see eg, Affiliations Committee/News, Wikimedia chapters/News, Wikimedia thematic organizations/News, and news in many individual affiliate pages that would also be reflected in more central pages). The Meta main page has a section for recent events. How broad is the intended scope for this template? --Yair rand (talk) 01:05, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Yair rand: Personally I would like to do not limit the scope of this calendar. This can be done in two ways: add the ability to create dedicated calendars showing only events (this filter is already present), and add the ability to create dedicated calendars excluding something (this is something I will work on this week, for example, to exclude "working hours") or both of them. It would be interesting to involve people to propose useful tags (working hours, event, ecc.). --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 15:32, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Propose some awesome Tags![edit]

Tracked in Phabricator:
Task T276350

Following an idea by @Yair rand: here we can try to provide some well-known tags to be put in Cronos. Feel free to list some tags! --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 16:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
