Hello. (안녕하세요.) Acknowledging rejected proposal to open a Korean hanja Wikipedia years ago, may I kindly propose retrofitting hanja to Korean wikis as footnotes, please? A demonstration is being tested at voy:zh:朝鲜语会话手册 (Korean phrasebook on Chinese Wikivoyage). Using http://hanja.naver.com/ as the primary dictionary, it works well to help Chinese speakers including myself to learn Sino-Korean vocabulary much faster. Hopefully my proposal will generally keep pure hangul on Korean wikis and also accommodate hanja supporters with footnotes, as keeping http://kore.wikia.com separately from Korean Wikipedia will split the developments. Using bots to detect Sino-Korean compounds[edit]
As one Korean sound tends to correspond to so many hanja characters, using bots to detect Sino-Korean compounds may work, but there are still homophones to watch out for.--Jusjih (talk) 21:17, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

As encyclopedic content must be verifiable, the feasibility to use bots to detect Sino-Korean compounds will require careful evaluation. Retrofitting hanja tends to be much easier in lists of proper nouns, but much harder in typical sentences.--Jusjih (talk) 21:17, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Korean Wikisource[edit]
Even some modern South Korean legal texts do have do have hanja versions , like s:ko:대한민국 대한민국헌법 (제1호) (Constitution No. 1 of the Republic of Korea [1]. Clicking 漢 (han as in hanja) on the upper right corner of a legal text switches from pure hangul to hanja mixture. Then clicking 한 (han as in hangul) switches backward. Whether to add hanja footnotes in existing pages, to open separate articles for hanja mixtures, or to have a page side-by-side page like s:zh:Translation:大韓民國憲法 will require community discussion.--Jusjih (talk) 21:17, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
