submitted verification final decision

This language has been verified as eligible.
The language is eligible for a project, which means that the subdomain can be created once there is an active community and a localized interface, as described in the language proposal policy. You can discuss the creation of this language project on this page.

Once the criteria are met, the language committee can proceed with the approval.

If you think the criteria are met, but the project is still waiting for approval, feel free to notify the committee and ask them to consider its approval.

  • The community needs to develop an active test project; it must remain active until approval (automated statistics). It is generally considered active if the analysis lists at least three active, not-grayed-out editors listed in the sections for the previous few months.
  • The community needs to complete required MediaWiki interface translations in that language (about localization, translatewiki, check completion).
  • The community needs to discuss and complete the settings table below:
What Value Example / Explanation
Language code sq (SILGlottolog) A valid ISO 639-1 or 639-3 language code, like "fr", "de", "nso", ...

If you want, you can enable local file uploading, either by any user ("yes") or by administrators only ("admin").
Notes: (1) This setting can be changed afterwards. The setting can only be "yes" or "admin" at approval if the test creates an Exemption Doctrine Policy (EDP) first. (2) Files on Commons can be used on all Wikis. (3) Uploading fair-use images is not allowed on Commons (more info). (4) Localisation to your language may be insufficient on Commons.
Optional settings

Default project timezone Europe/Tirana "Continent/City", e.g. "Europe/Brussels" or "America/Mexico City" (see list of valid timezones)
Additional namespaces For example, a Wikisource would need "Page", "Page talk", "Index", "Index talk", "Author", "Author talk".

There is alredy a wikipedia, wikibooks, wikiquote and wiktionary in albanian, its time there was a wikisource as well. --Cradel 16:01, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Arguments in favour[edit]

Can you explain your vote after you have created your account on in June 2008 [1] having experience neither with wikisource nor with Albanian projects? Thanks, -jkb- (cs.source) 17:32, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Arguments against[edit]

Why the rush? the test-project has just started and it is growing as we speak --Cradel 19:11, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If it grows, I will support. John Vandenberg 01:12, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So will I. Growing stoped on july. Texts: oldwikisource:Category:Albanian. -Aleator (talk) 13:30, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There has been some more growth which is good to see. oldwikisource:Wikisource:Languages says there are now 67 Albanian language pages. On another Wikisource project proposal I think I suggested 100 distinct works as a threshold for launching a new subdomain. w:Albanian literature appears to be a good list of works that should be included. Other discussion[edit]

  • Hi john, guys. There is a huge amount of text sitting in albania and kosovo to import here. lets get this started. Mdupont 07:39, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I started this wikisource:Wikisource:Autorët need to start collecting.Mdupont 07:53, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Guys, the first step should be to learn something about the copyright, as you know quite well. The Albanian copyright law says, the texts are protected 70 years after the death of the author. We had this discussion in the past, indeed. So, please go and controll the mentioned page first (the proper link is oldwikisource:Wikisource:Autorët). Regards, -jkb- 19:54, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
HELLOO!!! I found a huge new source of documents, OSCE, UNMIK, Ombudsperson and the parliament of Kosovo, they are producing enormous amounts of documents in albanian, and they should be fair game. Mdupont 19:50, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I have done the research on copyright and have reported on it here : Mdupont 12:07, 25 December 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
