Why is this under Brand? Nemo 23:14, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nemo! Thank you so much for asking this question and sorry for the delayed response as we just captured it now. I understand the background of your question as the guide content is mainly legal. In fact, the guide content has been mainly developed by the Foundation’s legal department. There are two reasons this attribution guide is listed under the Brand portal. The first is because of the content being attributed. The purpose of this guide is to help attributing Creative Commons licensed content on Wikimedia projects. Since this content will be attributed to one of the projects holding our movement trademarks, it does matter, from a brand perspective, that it is attributed in a correct way. The second reason is related to the audience this guide is directed to. While the guide is open for everyone to use, people looking for ways to attribute content can often be content makers from the press, media content makers, commercial content makers, etc. Content makers often refer to brand and trademarks as key words when looking for information about attribution. In general maintaining the movement brands and trademarks is a mutual work for the Foundation Legal and Brand Studio teams. Hope that helps answering your question. Thanks so much! --Selsharbaty (WMF) (talk) 05:43, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
