Talk:Contest:The women you have never met

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

I translated all the pages to the Dutch Wikipedia, but am wondering... how about Contest: The women you have never met/Participants: for local competitions, it's nice to have the local users grouped together. But how can they then participate in the international competition, do their local contributions count? Ciell (talk) 21:46, 25 February 2017 (UTC) @Anna Torres (WMAR):[reply]

@Ciell: AFAIK, the page Participants is an example to be deployed in the local Wikipedias (Spanish, English, Dutch, etc.). The "international phase" does not exist because we can't compare editions or more prolific users in two languages (ie: English against Cebuano). The winners are elected by the local jury (the local jury will check all new articles), and the winner(s) are announced in the participant page in Meta. So, your participants only make their contributions in nl.wiki and the winner(s) are announced here. Superzerocool (talk) 19:38, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks! Ciell (talk) 19:46, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ciell,
The local jury will reward the best - in terms of quality, byttes etc- article. The international jury will reward the editors with the greatest number of contributions in the contest, as, we can not compare the articles in different languages. Does it make sense? Using single contest page from year to year[edit]

To future: in my opinion, this is bad way that single contest page is used from year to year (with changing dates in the translated items). There is may be use single contest page with common info and project history, past results etc. But for each year needs to create new page - for categorizing into "Category:Events in YYYY" etc. At least, create, please, a page with the results of past year and give link to it in the navigational box. --Kaganer (talk) 00:34, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
