Talk:Indic Wikisource Proofreadthon August 2021/Rules

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

I have added my name in the Participants' list. I have few doubts for which I need clarification.

  1. Whether I have to select my book for proofreading from the list of books? or the admin will allocate my book?
  2. How to intimate the book I had selected for Proofreading to the rest of the group so that no duplication occurs?
  3. Is there any rule governing the addition of books (in my language) to the book list?
  4. Maximum how many books I can add to the book list?
  5. Whether I can select more than a book initially itself?

Thanks, in anticipation.

nil points for validation in taws[edit]

taws had discussion on taws regarding not awarding points for the validation. The conclusion arrived is that there is no points for the validation for the competition. The discussion can be seen here. Kind attention @Jayantanth: -- Balajijagadesh (talk) 08:32, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

//Use of bots or other automatic editing is not allowed. //[edit]

@Jayantanth: In the rules page it is written as //Use of bots or other automatic editing is not allowed. // Can changes be made like adding header, footer, routine spelling mistakes etc through bot flagged accounts during the competition?--Balajijagadesh (talk) 08:39, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

hwe[edit]

//If a word is split between pages, uses the {{hyphenated word start}} and {{hyphenated word end}} templates (or their shortcuts: {{hws}} and {{hwe}}). For example, at the end of the first page write {{hyphenated word start|bad|badger}} and at the start of the second page write {{hyphenated word end|ger|badger}}.//

@Jayantanth: @Bodhisattwa: I think there is no need to make it compulsory to add hws and hwe templates. A simple hypen will do the work in normal conditions isn't? -- Balajijagadesh (talk) 17:59, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Balajijagadesh:, The rule here is reflecting here as a standard practice. If any community have a different standard they may follow. Jayantanth (talk) 10:05, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
