Page title[edit]

User:Nemo bis, could you do me another favor and rename the page to List of Wikipedias having zero local media files. So one can have the search term "zero local media files". Shouldn't such projects be listed somewhere too? Danish Wikipedia hosts a Wikipedia logo, but has no other local files. Also, why doesn't eswiki appear on this page? es:Special:ListFiles contains nothing. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:11, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The Polish Wikipedia is at zero files most of the time. And yes, Wiki.png shouldn't count. But I understand that for propaganda reasons any exception might make the list less appealing. :) Nemo 21:21, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand, excluding such wikis makes sense if the purpose of this list is to point out how many and which wikis can have uploads totally disabled. @Stefan2 and Nemo bis: zero is easily communicated and controlled. Any exception makes these things more complicated. I hope to address some of this with the addition of a section "Implications for projects" to the page "zero local media files", done with this group of edits. Danish could copy the file to Commons - what if someone wants to make a gallery of these special logos? Impossible with local uploads. 91.9.110.98 22:27, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ladino Wikipedia[edit]

I don't know if I think lad: ought to go to zero or not. But I have two files that the IP user at 91.9.*.* has placed a deletion tag on. I have removed the deletion tags in both cases and have tried to engage this IP user in a discussion of same. In particular, I am fairly annoyed at the template-ish language "An EDP may not allow material where we can reasonably expect someone to upload a freely licensed file for the same purpose," as I am far from certain I "can reasonably expect someone to upload a [different] freely licensed file for the same purpose." Since I am a local administrator, and I have been trying to solicit help to put a proper EDP in place, it is my call whether or not to delete these files. And I will not do so until someone engages me in a responsible conversation on the subject. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:36, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for explaining your reasoning. If you don't have a proper EDP, you are not allowed to keep unfree files; anyone can come and delete them. If you need help with the EDP, you can ask at Talk:Non-free content. Nemo 06:10, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
