Hello, User:Jdforrester (WMF). Could you explain the item about revisionid, please? It's (1) you're saying it will work in preview mode only, but it never worked in preview mode, and returned an empty string; and (2) this magic word is heavily used to distinguish between read mode and preview mode, using {{#if:{{REVISIONID}}|read mode|preview mode}}, will it continue? Thank you. IKhitron (talk) 01:06, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@IKhitron: Indeed, the returning of an empty string will continue in preview mode. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 17:36, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Jdforrester (WMF): Thank you. What about the questions I've asked? Unfortunately, your answer does not help. Looks like the magic word will continue to return the empty string in preview mode (so it will not work in this mode) and will not work in read mode (so it will return an empty string in this mode). So it will not work any more at all, in any mode, and we can't use it any more to distinguish the modes. I'm not sure if this is your intention. Thank you. @IKhitron: I didn't write the code. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 18:50, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. I didn't ask anything about the code. I asked what changed and what will be the new functionality in different modes. If I get the answer, I could suggest how to rephrase the item, because now it does not make any sence. Thank you. IKhitron (talk) 21:22, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Btw, Johan, please pay attention to this topic. The text of the item can change in the last part, depends on the answer. IKhitron (talk) 17:26, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm paying attention. (: /Johan (WMF) (talk) 17:28, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Johan, I'm not sure your fix is OK. Maybe it's better to see what Jdforrester will answer. You said "It will work as before when you preview a page", but it did not work before at all when you preview a page. Thank you. IKhitron (talk) 14:05, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, Johan. As you can see, Jdforrester does not answer multiple times, and today is the last day of this issue, so I do not know what to do. Could you please explain, how do you see this change? Until now the feature worked in read mode and did not work in preview mode. From now it will stop working in read mode and will continue working in preview mode (to do what?). Does this mean it will not work in any mode? Or something else? Please do help. Thank you in advance. IKhitron (talk) 09:39, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Great, Johan, Thanks a lot! IKhitron (talk) 16:49, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@IKhitron: As always, I did answer, telling you what to do, and yet you kept asking anyway. Please don't do this again. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 18:15, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I can't see this. Maybe it was on some different page, and I did not get the ping. IKhitron (talk) 18:17, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ad Blocker issues affecting Wiktionary[edit]

Hi, Is it worth mentioning the issues with an overly strict adherence filter that led to some Wiktionary pages showing as blank today? I can add it later tongue or tommorow morning. See [1] under 'Easy List Whitelist' and [2] from 13:09 to 15:14. Thanks, RhinosF1 (Public) (talk) 20:14, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I've read through the entire discussion and the report you wrote up on Meta now. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 16:27, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Something is wrong[edit]

"Saving the translation failed: This namespace is reserved for content page translations. The page you are trying to edit does not seem to correspond any page marked for translation." right at "Admins on French and Polish Wikipedia" partial block section and "You will be able read but not edit most wikis for 30 minutes". These two section can't be translated, Johan (WMF) can you fix this?--AldNonymousBicara? 17:18, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to be fixed now. Sorry for pinging you.--AldNonymousBicara? 17:27, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
AldNonymous: I just want to say that one never needs to apologise for pinging me if one has problems translating Tech News. I'm always happy to either help or, if I can't, make sure the problem is reported. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 17:31, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
