Note for translators[edit]

Hi everyone, I'm waiting for information. Finalising the newsletter might be later than normal. My apologies. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 20:57, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Things could still change. We will let you know as soon as possible in that case. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 01:39, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Talk pages project update[edit]

The linked Talk pages project update states version 1.0 will be deployed today on selected wikis. phab:T245794#5968231 states the opposite. Either this should be made clear (e.g. with a new update on the project page), or this update should not be in this Tech News issue. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 00:21, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

After a meeting today: it will most likely go out this week. Sorry for the confusion. The Foundation is working at reduced capacity because of the ongoing pandemic (a lot of employees suddenly having to take care of children when they'd normally be working, because schools are closing where they live) and we're trying to figure out what this means. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 16:34, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It could change again. Unfortunately. But that will be true for most things. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 16:58, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I understand the situation. I have suddenly more time for the wiki, because I have to stay home, but it’s a bit different for employees… By the way, if plans don’t change, is there a plan on when will it be deployed (which day)? I’d like to communicate this on huwiki (stressing the uncertainty), and an exact date would help a lot. (If there isn’t, no problem—just please make sure to add an update on Phabricator when it actually happens.) —Tacsipacsi (talk) 00:32, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If plans do change, the four affected wikis will be updated separately. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 05:02, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
