Hello @Esh77, לסטר, Kayusyussuf, Rinazh, Jens Ohlig (WMDE), and Pambelle12:,

Just to inform you that after discussing with LiAnna (Wiki Ed), we decided to merge the Wikidata training materials meetup with a more general Wikidata & Wikibase meetup. The trainings & resources will be of course discussed in the second part, when we'll split in thematic groups. I hope you're fine with that :)

See you soon! Lea Lacroix (WMDE) (talk) 07:36, 6 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Lea Lacroix (WMDE) I could not attend the meetin because I had at least two other ones but I am very active in wikidata literacy in the academia and for cultural heritage. Is there some working group? So far I can only reach out through social media. I was suggested to attend the Wikidata conference but I don't know if I'll have enough time but I start to really need some "integrated" workflow.--Alexmar983 (talk) 09:17, 2 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Alexmar983:, as far as I know there is no formal working group about Wikidata and academia. Indeed, you can reach the community through various channels: I advise the Facebook group as well as the Wikidata + GLAM group, the Telegram channel and of course you can always write on Wikidata's Project Chat or one of the various WikiProjects. We also have a dedicated discussion page for people giving Wikidata trainings. I hope that helps! Lea Lacroix (WMDE) (talk) 10:19, 2 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Lea Lacroix (WMDE) the last one it's the most interesting one. In any case, my advice in small chat at the Summit was that we should make something like a "Wikimedia Literacy" meeting. As a section of the Wikidata conference or as a side event of same othe regional conferences, something that can rotate around the world. I found myself explaining basic tricks for wikidata to people around the globe and there is no space to share. Some wikidata users are too "nerdy" and they sometimes miss this approach. I am and advanced user so I would enjoy a technical meeting if I have time to attend, and it's useful for me but it's not the same thing. Even tool development could be quite different is aimend at total newbie, wikidata-newbie who are expert users in other platform and advanced users with huge workload.--Alexmar983 (talk) 10:43, 2 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
