first round of online engagement sessions[edit]

Dear Sir. Madam,

I would like to ask about attending the "thinking field" sessions. It will be once per day? like to attend in August 29, Sept. 02, 05, 09 from 16.00 to 19.00 or to attend two time slots per day (the 07.00 and the 16.00)? I am happy to hear from you soon. Best,--Sandra HANBO (talk) 13:43, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Dear @Sandra Hanbo, representatives who have been nominated by their affiliate only need to attend one of the 8 online sessions. The content of each session will be the same. If you have been nominated by your affiliate to participate in the Wikimedia Summit 2024, please fill out the nomination form. Best, Eva Martin (WMDE) (talk) 08:49, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Budget per Person[edit]

What is the amout of expected costs for travel and accomodation per Person who is allowed to attend at the Wikimedia Summit according to your Budget. With how many Eure per night do you calculate. Can you please offer some details about the expected cost for the Wikimedia Summit. I think the selected accomodations should be not high cost accomodations and I think a breakfast in a Hotel is not necessary. I am regularly visiting Berlin and I stay there at low cost accomodatiosn and usually the cost per Night have been not higher than 50 Euro per Night without Breakfast. Maybe such cost reduction measures can help more people to visit the Wikimedia Summit without increasing the total costs for the event. Booking flights early can also help to reduce the costs. Dear @Hogü-456, Thank you for your feedback. We will publish the financial report after the Wikimedia Summit 2024. We will of course select accommodation and travel on a value for money basis and try to accommodate as many participants as possible in Berlin. In the meantime, you can have a look at last year's financial report. Laura Klemens (WMDE) (talk) 14:06, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Laura Klemens (WMDE) I looked at the financial report of last year and I think the costs are high and it is possible to reduce them. For example if you think about accomodation. I think a night should not cost more than sixty Euro per Person and night and I think a Breakfast in the Accomodation is not necessary. It is much cheaper to go to a bakery and buy something there. If you really want to try to accomodate as much participants as possible then a Hostel and shared Bedrooms for many Persons and booking at least some fligths very early can help reduce the costs drastically. As I wrote last year I think it is not good if many people travel for a weekend to a place by plane to talk to other people. This is bad for the enviroment and at least I had good online conversations and so I hope the Wikimedia Summit wont be every year an on site event. From my point of view it is necessary to have a Budget if you spend such a big amount of money and so I wish that you publish it before. If there are variable positions it is possible to tell it and then it helps avoiding false expectations.--Hogü-456 (talk) 19:04, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Zoom link?[edit]

I registered several days ago for the session on 29 August at 16:00 UTC, but I have not yet received a Zoom link. Does this mean something went wrong with my registration, or that the links have not yet been sent out?
