Update the Thai Wikipedia to 100k-article section

@Syum90, Matiia, and Mxn:

According to th:Special:Statistics and [1], the Thai Wikipedia reached 100K articles at 16:39 (UTC+7) January 30, 2016. Please kindly update the the th.wp link to the 100K+ section. Thank you very much. --Taweethaも (talk) 01:54, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

@Taweetham: as you can see on #Moved to Gerrit, metawiki admins don't update that portal anymore. Maybe Glaisher or another user with gerrit access can update it. Matiia (talk) 00:31, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi. I filed a task on Phabricator requesting regular updates instead. We might be able to come up with a better solution instead of doing it on an ad hoc basis . See phab:T125528. --Glaisher (talk) 15:50, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you very much. --Taweethaも (talk) 03:52, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

Moved to Gerrit

@Matiia and Syum90: I see that stats are still being updated on this page but this is not used anymore. Changes are now made on Gerrit wikimedia/portals project A bit sad that the team responsible for making changes to the page is no longer updating the statistics. --Glaisher (talk) 16:07, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

Oh, I see, thanks for letting me know. Matiia (talk) 16:11, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Ok, thanks Glaisher, also for other sister projects?--Syum90 (talk) 16:15, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
They said that they were going to make the switch for only wikipedia.org back then. I'm not sure what the current status is though. --Glaisher (talk) 16:45, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Ok, thank you very much :-) Syum90 (talk) 16:54, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
@Matiia and Syum90: This has now been done for all the portals so there is probably no point in updating these pages on wiki. See phab:T135929 --Glaisher (talk) 15:21, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, I know, I don't update them anymore. Matiia (talk) 17:16, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
Ok, thanks Glaisher; pinging also MarcoAurelio, who has also updated these pages lately. I think we can unprotecting this and the other portal pages and marking them as deprecated/historical, as proposed by MZMcBride.--Syum90 (talk) 07:20, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
I use this to update the Gerrit repo, so I don't think we should unprotect any on this pages. —MarcoAurelio 09:21, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
So should we keep updating these pages or not? Syum90 (talk) 07:36, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
@MarcoAurelio and Glaisher: ^^ Syum90 (talk) 12:45, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
I don't think you need to keep updating these pages because afaik, a script is used to update the statistics now. If MarcoAurelio (or others) wants to update the page from here, then they are free to do so. --Glaisher (talk) 15:08, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

say "the free encylopedia in [Chinese]" in top 10 languages instead of the article count

I think you should have a message like "the free encylopedia in [Chinese]" in each of the top 10 languages rather than the number of articles. Very few people are going to choose their encyclopedia by article count rather than language, while large numbers of people are likely to bounce if they aren't sure what they are looking at, in particular not realizing that these are different editions in different language. Notification of update process change

As the Wikipedia.org portal is no longer updated via this template, I would like to add this notice to the page. Is that agreeable and does the notice provide correct information to seek out how to update the portal? CKoerner (WMF) (talk) 18:44, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi. I'm one of those updating this page because I rely on the updated code that the inteligent Scribunto modules gives to me to submit my patches to Gerrit. As such, I'd rather avoid inserting code that disrupts the main page. Thank you, —MarcoAurelio 11:36, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
Marco, I don't want to break any code. Do you think posting a notice here on this talk page would be sufficient? CKoerner (WMF) (talk) 18:57, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
Hi. I didn't wanted to mean that you wanted to break any code and I apologize if it sounded that way. I'm on the opinion that maybe putting that notice in the header of this page will be sufficient, since only administrators can edit the main page. It might be worth mentioning it on the /temp subpage though. Regards, —MarcoAurelio 19:08, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks Marco for the feedback. I'll do as you suggest and see what happens. :) CKoerner (WMF) (talk) 16:50, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks to you. I'll however continue updating this page, as it serves me as base for the patches I submit to Gerrit :) Best regards, —MarcoAurelio 11:49, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
