Find the heading in edit form and then do EasyResolve.summary = '/* ' + heading + ' */' + blah-blah-blah. It is not guaranteed against minor bugs like phab:T229270, but will work in 98% cases. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 14:40, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

@Incnis Mrsi and Enhancing999: This is implemented in the User:DreamRimmer/WhyNotResolve.js script. It has more features and is actively developed so it may be best to replace this script with that one (which may be a fork?). Prototyperspective (talk) 12:32, 24 November 2025 (UTC)

Wrong usage

Too few threads are marked as solved

I have suggested adding a button mark threads as solved as part of Community Wishlist/Wishes/Do not fully archive unsolved issues on Talk pages. The discussiontools used e.g. in mw: also has this feature but a button to mark threads is solved in Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons (and most users do not have this gadget installed). This makes it harder to track & solve unsolved issues.

The gadget can also be used on Commons, added a note to Template:Section resolved#See also. Prototyperspective (talk) 17:13, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

Not possible to mark requests as solved

@DannyS712: Could you please edit the script so that requests at c:Commons:Template requests and c:Commons:Batch uploading can be marked as solved by users? The EasyResolve button is not showing despite that it is showing at c:Commons:Village pump. I don't know why that is and moving first-level sections to second-level section didn't fix this. I thought the button should show per General criteria: you can add a section and its [this is a typo] a talk page or in // the project namespace. A button unarchive/restore unsolved archived threads

For unarchiving one currently needs to open the wikitext of the entire large archive page to remove / cut the archived thread and then paste it manually into the main page. Could this tool be extended to add an 'unarchive' button next to all threads in archives so one can do this conveniently with a click? Prototyperspective (talk) 20:52, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
