Greek Wikipedia: User:Νικόλας Παπαποστόλου[edit]

Hello Greek Scorpion,

I noticed your request at User talk:Ruslik0, in regards to the unblocking of Νικόλας Παπαποστόλου (talk · contribs). You may not be aware of the full story as to why they became blocked, which is why I am here to provide that, and hopefully then you will have a better understanding. Νικόλας was not indefinitely blocked for any "Macedonia" issue; although he was placed on the Arbitration Sanction List at English Wikipedia for abusing the Macedonia naming convention rules. He was blocked for more serious issues that were of great concern to the wider community. On German Wikipedia he was was picking users at random that he has no prior interactions with, and then issuing threats to them, harassing them, and even stalking their contributions and causing vandalism edits. This resulted in him being blocked indefinitely from German Wikipedia. Within minutes of that block, he then moved onto English Wikipedia and continued the same rampage of threatening users, including administrators (which is not the wisest of moves to carry out). As a result of that he received an indefinite block from en:Wiki, and his second cross-wiki block. After further investigations, it was found that the user was then creating profiles under the same name across the other language Wikipedia, and conducting the same threatening behaviour, and also vandalising Wikidata, which is unacceptable. As a result of all that, it was decided to prevent any severe damage that the user should be put on global-wiki lockdown and prevent him from creating more damage in other language Wikipedia areas, which is why Greek Wikipedia have him on indefinite block, because of the global block.

I'm sure you are also aware that it is unacceptable for a user to create a sock-puppet account if their original one is blocked, due to the block evasion rules. Anyhow, he violated those rules by creating a puppet account under the name Ν.Π. (talk · contribs) with the intention to evade his block and to continue his threatening behaviour. And so the new account became blocked for sock-puppeteering and evading the original block. And now that too has been globally blocked.

Would it be at all possible to at least explain the full reason to the user so that he is fully aware why he has been blocked cross-wiki, and that his actions were unacceptable, and the chances of any unblock being granted will mostly likely never happen, due to the extreme nature of his threats. He is actually lucky that the matter did not get escalated higher to the Wikimedia Foundation, for them to get local authorities involved, as I believe they generally do when users are threatened in such horrific manners. I hope the information I have provided now explains the whole situation. Any further question, then please contact me and I will happily answer them.
