Translation notification: Tech/Server switch 2020[edit]

Hello! You left behind a message on my talk page about not citing on a very obscure wiki page. As someone who is not experienced with Wiki at all, may I ask how you were able to come across my edit so quickly, especially when the edit was obscure and the page was also obscure. Bots? Just spending alot of time on Wiki?

Reply[edit]

@Darknessitselfflames: Though this might be a bad idea, I personally think you deserve an answer. I'll start by saying that I've watched that video, and one can interpret what she says about the character's sexuality in two ways. But because of the twitter message, it's more probable to interpret with the character being canonically bisexual. Now, I'm replying to you because the issue is not whether you are right (you might as well be), but how you approached the discussion.

If you used the talk page and been level-headed, you'd had a chance of convincing people to remove the information from the list, but instead you chose to edit war, yell, and personally attack other editors. It got to the point you appear to be globally locked for crosswiki abuse. I hope you think about how you acted and, if you still want to discuss about that information in future, you come back with a better attitude. Isabelle 🔔 17:35, 22 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Facts vs opinions[edit]

I notice there are many dummies in this country. Wikipedia is nothing but lies and fake arguments leading up to twisting the actual facts and adding what public's views and twisted comments. Wikipedia is the devil's candy for the media and the people that listen to opinions and crazy unrelated and nothing factual. This is what the democratic party used to trash and bad mouth trump with lies and falsified information. That reminds me has the democratic party covered up their accusations or lies . I hope they all get covid 19. How can our people allow that to go on from the liars and fakes to lie and slander and make up lies about the president. How come they are still there. As for Biden I'm sure you know from facts not from wikipedia that the votes were not legal and we're set up. There were thousands of forms that were filled out by the American people and sent off. How are the same people getting duplicate forms? Riddle me this. Biden should not have won . The democratic losers and frauds made sure he would. So I hope before he dies of old age or destroy s this country that he step down and admit to the people he has no idea what he's doing!!! He's a pervert, and before we know it we are all going to sharing a bathroom. Mchavis (talk) 05:34, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The Wikimedia LGBTQ+ User Group is holding online working days in May. If you’re an active Wikimedian, editing on LGBTQ+ issues or if you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, come help us set goals, develop our organisation and structures, consider how to respond to issues faced by Queer editors, and plan for the next 12 months.

We will be meeting online for 3 half-days, 14–16 May at 1400–1730 UTC. While our working language is English, we are looking to accommodate users who would prefer to participate in other languages, including translation facilities.

More information, and registration details, at QW2021.--Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group 15:44, 24 April 2021 (UTC)

A Community Wishlist Survey update waiting for translation[edit]

Hello! Would you be able to translate the newest update about the Community Wishlist Survey 2022? In short: instead of November 2021, the CWS will happen in January 2022. We would also like to make other improvements. We can't do that without having the volunteers' opinions. This is what we ask for in the message.

After the weekend, I'll send this to all Village Pumps, Cafes, Forums, etc. Our team would like as many people as possible not to ignore this message. Let's remove the language barrier.

Thank you! SGrabarczuk (WMF) 01:29, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Queering Wikipedia 2023 conference[edit]

Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group and the organizing team of Queering Wikipedia is delivering the Queering Wikipedia 2023 Conference for LGBT+ Wikimedians and allies, as a hybrid, bilingual and trans-local event. It is online on 12, 14 and 17 May, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia #IDAHOBIT, with offline events at around 10 locations on 5 continents in the 5-day span as QW2023 Nodes.

The online program is delivered as a series of keynotes, panels, presentations, workshops, lightning talks and creative interventions, starting on Friday noon (UTC) with the first keynote of Dr Nishant Shah entitled: I spy, with my little AI — Wikiway as a means to disrupt the ‘dirty queer’ impulses of emergent AI platforms. Second keynote is at Sunday’s closure by Esra’a Al Shafei, Wikimedia Foundation’s Board of Trustees vice chair, entitled: Digital Public Spaces for Queer Communities.

If you have been an active Wikimedian or enthusiast, supporting LGBT+ activities or if you identify as part of the larger LGBT+ community and allies in Wikimedia, please join us in advancing this thematic work. We encourage you to join online or in person with fellow Wikimedians if it is easy and safe to do so. Our working languages are English and Spanish, with possible local language support at sites of Nodes.

Registration for the online event is free and is open until Wednesday May 10th at 18:00 UTC, for safety protocol. Late event registration approval and event access denial is at the discretion of organizers.

More information, and registration details, may be found on Meta at QW2023
