Atikamekw Wikipedia
[edit]Good day, I saw that you posted a request for a Wikipedia in Atikamekw. The fact is this Wikipedia already exists since it is included in the Cree Wikipedia at cr.wikipedia.org (Cree there being for the Cree languages family). We don't think dividing all Cree, Atikamekw and Innu languages/dialects in different Wikipedias is a good idea. We recently updated the main page of this Wikipedia to better reflect the different languages and right now is the good time to join and build the Atikamekw section. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions (or send a message directly on the Cree Wikipedia). I also speak French if you prefer. Amqui (talk) 06:37, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
N'hésitez pas à me contacter. Amqui (talk) 06:44, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
Good day, Amqui! Thank you for this information! It makes sense being part of the Cree Wikipedia. How can we start to join and build the Atikamekw section? Could you send me a link to a policy that explains it? I know how to write articles on Wikipedia, but I don't know how to build the new section (I would also change something on the main page, because the Atikamekw section there is not written in our orthography norm). Thank you also for the offer to help building the project in our school. It would be great to benefit from the teacher's experience! How can I reach them and what information do you need from us before starting the project? We are very motivated and we're looking forward building the Atikamekw section with your help. - Good day, thanks for your answer, I'm looking forward for this cooperation to build the Atikamekw section on the Cree Wikipedia! To change the Atikamekw "box" of the main page, just tell me the changes you want to make and I will make them since only administrator can edit the main page. To create articles in Atikamekw, it is the same than creating articles on any Wikipedia (I suggest to include a category like "Category:Article written in Atikemekw" (the name of the category itself should written in Atikamekw too of course) to help sort out the articles after). That being said, it is also possible to create a Portal on the Cree Wikipedia for the Atikamekw "section", like an alternate main page written only in Atikamekw, I could create a stub for you if you tell me what would be the good title for "Portal:Atikamekw" in Atikamekw. Thanks, Amqui (talk) 17:11, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- For the school projects, I suggest we discuss by e-mails. I already sent you an e-mail with my e-mail address. Amqui (talk) 17:13, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Nastasia. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Nastasia~metawiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
