Your account is not attached and looks like phishing[edit]

Repeating the message in this diff here, since notifications will not work either.

@RMaung (WMF): Your account is not attached on enws, so to anyone here it will show up as an unregistered account and your global user page will not show up. In other words, it looks like a phishing attempt. This is likely to also be the case for every project except the 88 listed here. --Xover (talk) 16:14, 9

Even if it should turn out to not deter a significant number of users from participating in this particular survey, it will signal that is ok to ignore obvious signs of phishing on WMF wikis, making our users more suceptible to actual phishing attempts in the future. --Xover (talk) 16:23, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Xover: Thank you for the heads up! I thought I had linked my account to all projects I was messaging but I see an error in my original list. Fixing this now. RMaung (WMF) (talk) 17:02, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Григор Гачев: I am replying here since I cannot make edits to your talk page. The survey will remain open until the end of October! You can ask a question about the survey here on my talk page, or via the email address! --RMaung (WMF) (talk) 16:43, 23 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Global mass messages[edit]

I am not sure that it is appropriate to be sending out unsolicited and repeated messages about some community survey, with no onwiki way to opt out of receiving them. Please consider adjusting your process appropriately. --Rschen7754 17:54, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Rschen7754: Anyone can opt out through a message on my talk page or a ping, in addition to the email address. --RMaung (WMF) (talk) 19:28, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Anyone, who don't want to use e-mail with his real address, is unable to stop your spam, because you wrote, that it is necessary to send your e-mail to do it. --Slb nsk (talk) 20:53, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Dear RMaung (WMF),

2 days ago I filled out the questionnaire, but you continue to send me messages. --Slava sahakyan (talk) 18:36, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Slava sahakyan: Thank you for letting me know! The survey link is anonymous, so we don't know who has completed it unless they let us know. Thank you so much for your time and feedback! I'll make sure you don't receive any further messages about taking the survey. --RMaung (WMF) (talk) 19:09, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hebrew wiki reminder[edit]

Hello there! I'm nor sure if it was reported elsewhere or not (or even if this an appropriate place to report about this) but it seem that at least in the Hebrew Wikipedia your mass messages regarding "Reminder: Community Insights Survey" successfully reached only Flow-user talk pages, who are very few among us Hebrew Wikipedians. By the way, is it OK to answer the survey throw a link of another user who has a Flow-talk pages? Mbkv717 (talk) 17:15, 5 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Mbkv717: Thank you so much for letting me know! I'll look into why that might be happening. In the meantime, here is a link you can use! --RMaung (WMF) (talk) 15:46, 7 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Stop sending spam[edit]

Please stop posting spam messages (“Community Insights Survey” plus two identical “reminders”) on my user discussion page on Wikipedia. I've blanked one of your lists you put me on since the list is apparently used to post that spam. Please do not put me back on any such list. --Babelfisch (talk) 18:55, 20 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Maybe consider automatically removing the notices if the surveys expire? But I think your expirey dates are too short, too. Dagelf 13:59, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

Notice and Wikimedia timelines[edit]

Good day. In my experience one month is not adequate notice in Wikimedia, and if you want proper feedback you need to give at least 3-6 months notice to invite participation. Regards Dagelf 13:58, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

Community Insights: anonymity[edit]

Hello. Neither your invitation e-mail nor the Community Survey FAQ indicates whether the survey is anonymous. This will affect whether some people will take the survey or not, because some people might want to express unpopular opinions without the risk of being attacked. Perhaps it would be a good FAQ question (if anybody else has asked about it). Thank you. 2A00:23C5:FE0C:2100:ECD4:D74B:A550:E03C 20:19, 2 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
