Template:Sent‎‎ why?[edit]

This template is redundant with the updated echo system letting someone know that they have an email, and the appropriate notification message set. If they have turned off the notification, then you are subverting their request to not to know. Why do you think that we need it?  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:11, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

To also note that we should, by preference, be importing templates with their histories and their authorship, rather than copy and pasting templates, and their documentation, and losing that documentation and corresponding licensed aspect.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:14, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
@Billinghurst: Thanks for the message. We recentely created a cross-community resource exchange for all Indian Wikipedias; Indic Wikimedia Portal/Resource Exchange. We need it there, for indication. The entire thing is still under construction though, we need it there to mark the status for a request. KCVelaga (talk) 11:15, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

Wikimedia and Libraries User Group Steering Committee Election Voting Phase[edit]

Wikimedia and Libraries User Group logo.svg

Hello KCVelaga! We are happy to announce that the steering committee election 2019 is now open for voting. Because you have joined the user group before 28 February 2019, you are eligible to vote. Not unlike last year, you can vote support for multiple candidates, at most one support for each candidate. Also, oppose votes are not allowed, but discussions are welcome on the talk page.

On behalf of the steering committee,

#1Lib1Ref May 2019[edit]

1biblio1ref 1ori.svg The Wikipedia Library – #1Lib1Ref

As you might've already known, #1Lib1Ref is happening again in May!

#1Lib1Ref, the annual campaign where librarians add references to improve Wikipedia, is back for another round, running from May 15th to June 5th, 2019.

  • Not every part of the world is in sync, more particularly the southern and northern hemispheres. While the January version of the #1lib1ref campaign works well mostly for the northern hemisphere, it doesn't for the countries below the equator. Hence #1lib1ref May! This is a great expansion of the event and it means that there is another opportunity to make Wikipedia more factual and verifiable by leveraging the expertise of librarians around the world.
  • While this campaign encourages participation from the southern hemisphere, we would love for you to join us even if you participated in the January campaign – after all, Wikipedia is only as strong as its references! So whether we call this 1Lib1Ref May, 1Lib1Ref for the Southern Hemisphere, or 1Lib1Ref Strikes Back, the point is the excitement is building again, and we'd like you to be a part of it.
