What does this mean? It's from the blog of the Egyptian guy, Abdel Karim, who was jailed for three years because of what he put in his blog at http://karam903.blogspot.com/ 87.74.55.177 11:50, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
what is consensus?
[edit]as i am now idefinitely banned in arabic wiki, i thought it'd be nice to thank you here. you banned me for 3RR tho it's only 2, you blocked me indef but user:Meno25, appreciating your good faith, told you your action was wrong and could give ar wi admins a bad name here, and again, blocking me indef with no policy violation on my part, your friend, user:Shipmaster, relied on ignore all rules to justify your stance. as arabic wiki has now officially 17 admins, could you please tell me what admins, other than you two, agreed to my ban? --Azdiyy 16:51, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- considering your admirable acquintance with policies, i fear you are being taken for a ride. can you get 7 other admins (out of the official 17) to agree with your action publicly (almost 50%)? there are many who see no point in arguing with someone like you or getting into a wheel war. you may remember that Mido undid you first indef ban on me, which was supported publicly by one other admin only. --Azdiyy 21:30, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: List of Wikipedias
[edit]Huh, I don't know. I used Mutante's script, the same one we've always been using for this page. He must've accidentally reverted to an earlier version of the script or something. I'll ask. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 17:05, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Ads for Wikimania 2008
[edit]Can we make an ad page yet on Wikimania 2008, or wait for some other time? I have two ads so far, which is shown on my userpage. Miranda 20:34, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hey Miranda, Thank you so much for your interest. kindly wait for the Media Committee to be established and they will be resposible for the ads and banners usage and creation (and creating their workspace on wiki), you can surely join this team! Thanks again for your efforts. (Note: that was Mido's opinion ;))--TheEgyptian 20:42, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- I have already made two banners. I really don't feel like deleting them. One will be/is on Wikipedia. Thanks, though. Miranda 20:44, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Call For Volunteer Facilitators Across Africa
[edit]Dear Wikimedian,
The Africa Narrative is seeking volunteer facilitators in Egypt (two volunteers) and Senegal (two volunteers) for the AfroCreatives Wikiproject.
The AfroCreatives Wikiproject aims to support and mobilize creatives and professionals from the African creative sector, as well as enthusiasts more broadly, to contribute and enhance knowledge on Wikipedia about Africa’s creative economy. Its inaugural effort will target the film sectors of Egypt, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Senegal.
The Africa Narrative (TAN) is a non-profit that develops singular, high-impact initiatives in support of African creatives and the African cultural and creative industries with the aim to strengthen capacity in the continent’s creative economy and the global visibility of African cultural soft power.
All volunteers must have full professional proficiency in English. In Senegal, they must have native or full professional proficiency in French; in Egypt, they must have native or full professional proficiency in Arabic. Volunteer facilitators should have a vast knowledge about Wikimedia projects and experience with teaching new editors. All volunteers will be compensated.
Interested participants may sign up on the project's Meta page. You may also indicate your country and email if your Wikipedia account is not associated with any email address.
The Africa Narrative/Volunteers
We will be glad if you can share with or recommend an Egyptian or Senegalese Wikipedian as well.
Thank you.
