Hello geimfyglið, unfortunately the existing bureaucrat HPNadig is not active on kn.wik. There is really no active community yet on kn.wikt (if there were one, the Kannada Wikt would have not have less than 100,000 entries by now - it has only 253). I am building a community from scratch, and need to modify some templates, locked pages, correct some message translations, remove personal details left by earlier editors on some of the locked templates, etc to even communicate effectively with the Kannada community. According to the find-admins tool, this wiki has no active admins within the past month. The speedy deletion log there is fairly large. There are a few crosswikimalbot creations, but the vast majority of the pages consist of articles that were copied, in English, (I assume verbatim) from the English Wikipedia in 2006 or 2007. None of the ones I looked at have any recent edits, other than by interwiki link-bots, and some of them have been tagged for deletion for around two years. I would like to request sysop rights on this wiki temporarily to clear out this backlog. I don't imagine it would take me more than a some minutes to an hour to finish, so if it is all right, I will not ask for a specific duration; I'll just request removal once I am done. The situation is cleared now after a talk on IRC. According Darkoneko and Blinking Spirit, local 'crats, it'll can request regrant sysop flag and obtain it. This, not according the ruling cited in discussion but by common sense. So it's safe for Nakor to get a removal, as he have the warranty to recover its flag. My only thought on that is the thing is not useful : if a sysop wants to sanction itself with temporary flag removal, this user can also choose not to use sysop functionalities without requesting one a steward removal, secondly a local 'crat regrant. --Dereckson 19:33, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Japanese Wikipedia provides as a policy that the sysopship should be taken away from an administrator who is inactive for recent three months. Thus, most users of Japanese Wikipedia don't believe that it is nessecary to leave a message on his/her talkpage prior to request. (Rather, we usually tell him/her after the removal.) Hello, 1. the interface translations should never be done locally but only on betawiki: where all interface translations go, so they are not only locally but everywhere available and where the translations are documented to avoid common errors like translating variables or keywords which would break the interface. 2. please open a local announcement, we cannot grant You adminship whithout that. If there is no local community we could grant You a temporary period, but only if You can assure not to translate locally, but for this You need a local announcement anyway. The Turkmen Wikipedia has two administrators who are in active for more than two years now. I'd like to be an administrator there, because categorizing of pages is necesary. There are some pages to be deleted since they were just copied out from other wikis as they were. Presently I'm about to complete the translation of the Milestone 1 in Betawiki. With the permission I will clean up and arrange Turkmen wiki what I have been trying to do in recent months. Dear Hanberke, I don't understand Your question. You made a local request on 5th, it should stay open at least a week, so locals could comment, that would be not before 12th then. Also it seems that new requests are usually not added to the top of the request-page but at the bottom, and the format of the heading is different too, You probably should correct that too.
