Affiliations Committee/Resolutions/Renewal Wikimedians in Thailand (May 2016)

Whereas:

1. Recognizing Wikimedia User Groups is the responsibility of the Affiliations Committee;
2. On April 28, 2014, Wikimedians in Thailand was recognized as Wikimedia User Group by the Affiliations Committee and renewed for an additional 1 year term that finished on April 28, 2016.
3. The affiliation requirements for Wikimedia User Groups include annual renewal based on the annual activities reporting submitted by the group.

In 2015 the group maintained their eligibility criteria and increased their activities hosted several community events including:

• Wiki Loves Earth and Wiki Loves Monuments in Thailand which were funded by their successful PEG grant application
• Meet-ups and smaller projects including their:
  • Meeting at dtac to prepare for Wikimedians in Thailand/2015 Smithsonian APA
  • Edit-a-thon/Meet-up Wikimedians in Thailand/2015 Smithsonian APA
  • 2015 Wikipedia Asian Month, and
  • 100K article project
• The piloting of a new education program at Mahidol University.
• Conference participation at the 2015 Wikimedia conference in Berlin, Wikimania 2015 in Mexico City, and Free basics by Dtac (Wikipedia Zero)

1. The current status and work performed by Wikimedians in Thailand have been reviewed by the Affiliations Committee;
2. They have fulfilled the minimum requirements to retain their status as a Wikimedia User Group;

The Affiliations Committee has determined that the Wikimedia User Group satisfies the requirements for renewal of its status as an affiliate.

Therefore be it resolved that the Wikimedia User Group status of Wikimedians in Thailand is hereby renewed until April 28, 2017.
