about article improving help[edit]

Topic

Copyright violation, Notability, English Wikipedia

hello sir am Gaurav Jhammat from Punjabi Wikipedia. i am going to talk about an article named Diyar-e-Dil. This drama is recently started but no-one created any article on it although it is based on a famous novel of same name. yesterday my Friend Gurbakhshish chand created an article about this Tv Drama named en:Diyar-e-Dil on enlish wikipedia. he firstly got speedy deletion tag and after that a improve tag. he created this article just to notify other wikipedians that this article should be created and be improved. the article is still in improve tag situation. i have heard that there is a wikiproject named wikiproject Television. so i wanted to ask you is there any connecting branch or media or method where we could talk to other wikipedians who are working in wikiproject Television and we could share their help to improve such type of articles on english wikipedia so that we can share themon our native language wikipedia.--Gaurav Jhammat (talk) 18:13, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello Gaurav Jhammat and welcome to this help desk, Notability is a very critical and important policy on the English-language Wikipedia. In our resource guide to English Wikipedia, we tried discussing this. We are also aware that it is sometimes very difficult to establish notability of Indian subjects on the English Wikipedia, please see en:WP:INDAFD, where we discussed possible difficulties.
BUT please note, the article was nominated for deletion for copyright violation issue and not any other issue. It seems that a large portion of the article was copied directly.
However, you need to add a couple of reliable secondary sources there. Both offline and online and English and non-English sources are acceptable. Currently there is not any Indian television dedicated board. You may try getting help at en:WT:INB, but being a regular member of that board,I don't think, it'll make a huge difference. You may try "reference search tricks and suggestions" provided at en:WP:INDT (check search tools). --TitoDutta 19:16, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
