Description - The #WikiForHumanRights2022 global challenge on the "Right to the healthy environment" is part of the larger #WikiForHumanRights campaign which call on all Wikimedians across the continent to contribute to content on Wikipedia and its sister projects about human rights topics around climate change, Pollution, and Biodiversity.

Contributions can be in a form of creating new articles, translating or improving existing on your language Wikipedias or uploading photo and videos related to the theme. Why should you participate? Every human being should have a safe, clean, healthy, and sustainable environment to live in. Fortunately, the right to a healthy environment is recognized in one way or another in more than 150 countries worldwide. #WikiForHumanRights campaign encourages Wikimedians and advocates to document on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia platforms the story of these rights which enable a safe and stable climate, healthy ecosystems, and a non-toxic environment: we can increase knowledge about the healthy natural systems upon which all people rely for the water they drink, the air they breathe, the food they eat and the resources they need. Duration: The writing challenge will run from; 00:01 on 15th April until 23:59 on 15th May 2021 (UTC).

Discussion[edit]

@Martin Urbanec, DerHexer, Ата, and Ciell: We just realized that our request didn't get put on the calendar correctly. Case study in need to fix the workflow for new requesters. Can we possibly use the translations for the campaigns from last year: CentralNotice/Request/WikiForHumanRights (Central campaign) but also include the updated logo: File:WikiForHumanRight2022 Campaign logo.png . I am working on changing our capacity on our side to support these soon, Astinson (WMF) (talk) 14:26, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We also know that we don't need the banner running in the overlap with CentralNotice/Request/WikiPorLosDerechosHumanos, Astinson (WMF) (talk) 14:31, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Alex, nice catch! Julia Brungs is working with us to try to word the process even more clearer; maybe you can ask your colleague to visit the FAQ page and give feedback on what was not clear to them?
For the banner campaign: could you please fill out the section above for the desired banner settings, for the admin that will set up the campaign? Ciell (talk) 16:23, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ciell Updated! Also see the reference for last year, and the new image that I link above. @IBrazal (WMF) thinks its a bit more complex than wording, will likely share findings soon on the explorations she did earlier, Astinson (WMF) (talk) 17:54, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Astinson (WMF), it is generally not a good idea to put stable translatable content and changeable content of users' contributions on the same page. (Many challenges do it. Still a bad idea). Please consider either splitting them somehow (UCDM had a subsubpage fot the participants' list, which isn't ideal either), or keeping an eye on users accidentally breaking WikiForHumanRights/Join the Challenge. Ата (talk) 07:08, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Ата, it seems to have worked with last year's page, and we are drawing on the model from the WikiGap Challenge and some of the translation is being added by community members . We are monitoring for breaking, and hopeful that the lower parts of the page don't need to be translated. Unfortunately, bugs like this are kindof something we are trying to fix for with tools from the Campaigns/Foundation Product Team, Astinson (WMF) (talk) 13:37, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
