Greetings from the Deoband Community Wikimedia! This activity plan builds upon our previous six-monthly activity plan. Over the last six months, we have streamlined our conversation hour and contributed through our upcoming leadership development and skills infrastrure plan. This page outlines a comprehensive list of planned activities for the term spanning from 1 April 2024 to 30 September 2024. Please note that this list is dynamic.

• Conducting the DCW Conversation Hour throughout the six months.
• Implementation of the Leadership Development and Skills Infrastructure Plan for capacity development.
• DCW Progress Prism: In-person meetup and conference of our volunteers.
• Based on Wikimedia Australia's Drop in and Wiki and our own DCW Conversation Hour - we look forward to establishing a regular conversation (preferably in Urdu) for our local volunteers and new-comers to sustain their interest in the movement.
• Attending the Wikimedia Summit 2024 in Berlin.

Workshops at Wiki Club Jamia on the following issues:

• Identifying reliable sources
• Understanding the encyclopedic neutral point of view
• Understanding Wikipedia's notability criterias
• Combatting vandalism on Wikipedia: a guide to important tools such as Twinkle
• Embarking on Wikipedia Writing: A guide to contributing articles from scratch
• A comprehensive guide on the workings of Did You Know
• Advanced Guide to Wikimedia Commons: Scope, Uploading Images, Categorizing, Using on Wikipedia

Heritage Lens Iterations

• Tentatively two Fellowships aiming at uploading of around 300 images on Wikimedia Commons
• 1 Collaborative Drive with Project Korikath to help document thematic images from Bangladesh

Deoband Yoruba Collaborative Project

• Third edition focusing on Urdu, Hindi, and Yoruba Wikipedia, with a goal of creating/improving approximately 100 articles.

DCW-K Editathon

• Second edition with a target of 100 articles and capacity development of Kashmiri language editors.

Workshop in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir

• This aims at establishing a local Wiki Club in collaboration with Kashmiri Wikimedians User Group.

Workshop in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra

• This aims at establishing a local Wiki Club particularly focused on the improvement of Urdu Wikipedia

Workshop in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

• This aims at establishing a Wiki Club at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama

Workshop in Deoband, Uttar Pradesh

• This aims at engaging students of the Darul Uloom Deoband and Darul Uloom Waqf on Wikipedia, with a focus on Arabic and Urdu.

Generic workshops and training sessions with focus on:

• Wikidata (with respect to these recommendations)
• Understanding Basic to Advanced Structure of Wikipedia involving Reviewing Draft Submissions and New Pages Patrolling
• Conflict of Interest
• Wikiquote with a focus on its Urdu edition

Off-Wiki Open Source Engagement

• Initiating a subdomain at dcwwiki.org to engage our members and volunteers in neutrally curating open source knowledge and stories through the peer-review process.
• This aims at developing writing capacities of our volunteers.
