6. What is the change you are trying to bring? What are the main challenges or problems you are trying to solve? Describe this change or challenges, as well as main approaches to achieve it. (required)

The change we are trying to bring through the implementation of a Kiwix for Schools project is improved access to quality educational content for schools, particularly in areas with limited internet connectivity. The main challenges or problems I aim to solve include:

1. Limited Internet Infrastructure: Many schools, especially in underserved areas, face challenges of unreliable or no internet connectivity. This restricts students and teachers from accessing online educational resources.
2. High Data Costs: Even in areas with internet access, high data costs can be prohibitive for schools with limited budgets. This limits their ability to provide students with comprehensive and up-to-date educational content.
3. Digital Divide: Access to digital resources is unequal, exacerbating the educational gap between well-connected and underserved communities. This disparity hinders educational opportunities for students in remote or disadvantaged areas.

To address these challenges, the main approaches to achieve the desired change are:

1. Offline Access to Educational Content: Implementing Kiwix, an offline solution, enables schools to download and store educational content libraries locally, overcoming the limitations of internet access.
2. Comprehensive Content Selection: Collaborating with educators, curriculum specialists, and local stakeholders to curate and tailor educational content relevant to the local context, aligning it with the school curriculum.
3. Technical Setup and Training: Providing technical support and training to schools to install and configure Kiwix, effectively utilize the software, and maximize the benefits of offline educational resources.
4. Sustainability and Maintenance: Establishing a plan for content updates, technical maintenance, and ongoing support to ensure the longevity and success of the Kiwix for Schools project.

By implementing Kiwix for Schools, we aim to bridge the digital divide, empower teachers and students with access to quality educational materials, and promote equitable learning opportunities in areas with limited internet connectivity.
