1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

This is in response to international mesuem day that's coming on 18 May. This will be an edithathon to write about more than 15 mesuem that we have in Nigeria and also to take a photo walk to these mesuem to take thier pictures and upload them into Wikimedia commons. There no much coverage of Nigerian mesuems in hausa Wikipedia and no much photos of those Mesuems in commons this project will try to solve that. Taking this advance to organize an edithathon and photo walk at the same Time.

1. An edithathon that will produce 50 articles of Mesuems in Nigeria and also some tourist places in Nigeria.
2. A photowalk that will produce 500 photos of Mesuems in Nigeria and also some tourist sights in Nigeria.
  • How This Project Is Related To The Museum International day.

Its related as we want to celebrate the day, so we decide carried and event that will be impactful in the movement since look at that Museum is not well represented in our local wiki, by creating articles and photo uploads.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

The main approaches will be in two category

1. To organize an edithathon in other to bring experience editors to write about these mesuem. That will produce 50 new articles on them.
2. A photo walk to snap the pictures of these mesuems to document them in Wikimedia commons. That will produce 500 photos of those places.

I think this two strategies will be affective because it will bring experience editors to write and also to take photos and document it. For better coverage of Mesuems in Nigeria. And the idea of bring the photowalk and edithathon at the same time is to make the work effective and leave no angle untouched and also to be able to prepare a single grant that will work with a willing and able team to suit all the projects needs.

  • The Details of the photowalk

The photowalk will be like this, within 10/8/2022 to 10/9/22, me and the team will carried out 10 days walk to the following Museums.

  • Taking photos in the Mesuem
Taking photos into the museum is allowed since it's a public place and all the materials and things inside are meant for public consumption. We also prepared an official latter of introduction to each museum to be presented to each museum so as to make it more official.
