1. Le Togo est un pays riche en diversité culturelle, avec de nombreuses ethnies, traditions avec des pratiques qui intègrent la vie quotidienne des citoyens. En majorité, certaines de ces pratiques de la vie courante ont gardé leur authenticité originelle, d'autres ont été perfectionnées pour s'adapter aux réalités actuelles et carrément certaines ont été acquises sous d'autres cieux et implémenter au pays afin de répondre aux besoins des populations. Tout ceci rentre dans la liste de ce que l'on peut considérer comme le génie ou la créativité africaine. Cette proposition a pour objectif de mettre en avant les multiples facettes du génie africain à travers des images.

2. En organisant le concours photographique Wiki Loves Africa 2024 au Togo, on cherche à répondre à plusieurs défis et enjeux importants, notamment :
 2.1. la sous-représentation de l'Afrique : L'un des principaux défis est de lutter contre la sous-représentation de l'Afrique dans les médias, la culture populaire et la sphère en ligne. Le concours vise à mettre en lumière la richesse culturelle et créative de l'Afrique, en contribuant à une image plus équilibrée du continent.
 2.2. La préservation du patrimoine culturel : Le génie africain englobe une vaste gamme de traditions, d'arts, d'innovations et de modes de vie. Il est essentiel de documenter et de préserver ces éléments culturels pour les générations futures. Le concours encourage la documentation visuelle de ces aspects culturels.
2.3.  L'accès à l'information : En mettant en ligne des photographies du Togo et de l'Afrique, le concours améliore l'accès à l'information sur la culture, l'histoire et le patrimoine africain, ce qui est crucial pour la diffusion du savoir et la lutte contre les stéréotypes et la désinformation.
 2.4. L'implication de la communauté : Le concours encourage la participation active de la communauté togolaise et africaine dans la création et la diffusion de contenu sur des plates-formes telles que Wikipédia. Cela peut aider à combler les lacunes en matière de connaissances et de représentation.
3. Les principales approches pour combler ces lacunes se concentreront sur l’organisation de ce concours, de photowalk, de formation ainsi que la mise en œuvre d’une communication axée sur les acquis de ce projet.
