Wiki Loves Africa 2024 Zambia under the theme "Africa Create" aims to bring about change by promoting African creativity, increasing representation, improving access to information, fostering a sense of belonging, and enhancing digital literacy.
Our main approaches includes this photography competition, integration with Wikimedia platforms, community engagement, and advocacy for a more diverse online landscape. Through these efforts, we hope to celebrate and document Zambia's cultural heritage while addressing these key challenges.
Representation and Visibility: Zambia, like many other African countries, suffers from a lack of representation in global media and online platforms. We are addressing the challenge of underrepresentation by encouraging photographers to capture the beauty and creativity of Zambia.
Digital Literacy and Collaboration: Another challenge we are addressing is the need for improved digital literacy and collaboration within Zambia. By involving local photographers and the wider community in Wiki Loves Africa, we are promoting digital skills and collaborative editing
