The change we aim to bring about through "Wiki Loves Africa 2024 - South Sudan: Celebrating the Creative Industries" is the documentation and promotion of South Sudan's rich and diverse creative industries and cultural heritage. This is essential as we seek to preserve and share cultural practices related to the process of creating, inventing, and manufacturing culturally defined items, makeup, art, hairstyles, music, dance, clothes, woven materials, and more. By encouraging contributions of media that showcase these elements, we hope to shed light on South Sudan's rich heritage, culture, and traditions as expressed through music, song, dance, and movement. This project is instrumental in addressing the lack of documentation and global recognition for South Sudan's cultural offerings, empowering the local community to actively contribute to the global knowledge commons, and fostering cultural exchange and understanding. The importance of this change has been assessed through community interest, its potential for educational and cultural impact, its alignment with the broader Wiki Loves Africa initiative, past successes, and the desire to empower the South Sudanese community to document and promote their own culture and heritage.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

As part of our strategies, we will undertake several key activities to achieve the goals of "Wiki Loves Africa 2024 - South Sudan: Celebrating the Creative Industries." These activities include organizing workshops, webinars, and information sessions to educate and engage the South Sudanese community in the contest. We will actively encourage participants to document various facets of South Sudan's creative industries, offering support to capture high-quality media. We will guide copyright and licensing compliance for media uploads to Wikimedia Commons, ensuring the legitimacy of submissions. Promotion and outreach will involve collaborations with South Sudanese cultural organizations and influencers, as well as employing traditional and digital media channels to raise awareness. An awards ceremony or event will recognize and celebrate the contributions of participants, motivating continued engagement. Finally, the project will be closely monitored and evaluated to track progress, assess community engagement, and measure the project's reach and impact, with comprehensive reporting on outcomes. These activities form a cohesive and comprehensive approach to empowering the South Sudanese community and documenting their cultural richness effectively.
