- 1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.
We will focus on collecting quality pictures of South Sudan's cultural heritage monuments by mobilizing people to participate in Wiki Loves Monuments 2022 in South Sudan. This competition is important to our community because very few of South Sudan's monuments have pictures on them on Wikimedia. The competition will be an opportunity to encourage people to seek these monuments and write about them.
- 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.
A list of South Sudan's cultural heritage monuments will be obtained from the Uganda Museum and provided to the contestants. In that case, it will be easy for the participants to know which monuments to collect images on these approaches shall be effective because of the already existing team that we have and as well the readiness of the south Sudan youth community to participate in Wikimedia programs
- 3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?
- Photography contest
- Wikipedia training and editathon to enable the photos later to be added
- Community involvement shall not only encourage existing members to contribute but also welcome newcomers to the space
- 4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.

- 6.1 In a few sentences, explain how your work is specifically addressing this content gap (or Knowledge inequity) to ensure a greater representation of knowledge.
South Sudan is such a new country with all infrastructure getting baby steps, this means our level of documentation on very vital information on Wikimedia is lacking too, many articles about south Sudan remain very highly viewed and visited meaning a lot of people actually are looking for south Sudan content, by adding this information we shall not only be improving articles but also creating articles form some of the images which don't have articles hence creating a large space for content

Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation, Geographic , Ethnic/racial/religious or cultural background
- 9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities?
Our main target participants shall be members of the Wikimedia Community in South Sudan who are mainly youth while allowing at least 5 newcomers during the launch and event programs
Most of our members are male so most of our newcomers shall be female to balance up the participation with the female, we have seen a lot of interest from the females so it will be great to integrate them in
- 10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?
We have a youth safeguarding policy that governs the whole community but also, we shall be conducting the events from legal and secured grounds and spaces
- 11. Please tell us about how you have let your Wikimedia communities know about the planned activities and this proposal. Use this space to describe the processes you carried out to make the community more involved in planning this proposal. Please link the on-wiki community discussion(s) around the proposals.
We have divided the community into Minute leadership roles in different programs and allowed ownership of programs per skill level someone has, so we always have meetings with the different communities from the photography, and article section of different programs, and hence planned for the WLM in a meeting held a week ago
