This project is determined to translate important HIV(AIDS) related articles from English Wikipedia to Hausa Wikipedia and promote them on social media. So that it helps serve as a means to stop the spread of the disease among youths. As it has been a tragic chaos in our society hence, the program will hepl stop the spread of the disease.

Project Goal[edit]

  1. Translation of HIV(AIDS) related articles from English Wikipedia to Hausa Wikipedia
  2. Online promotion of of the translated articles on social media platforms for ten (10) working days. via WhatsApp and Facebook.
  3. Offline gatherings of participants with experienced doctors in the prior field.
  4. The project is set to recruit new users on Hausa Wikipedia platform.
  5. It will also engage existing editors and more importantly increase leadership in the society.

1. What is your promotion plan?
You can do a campaign involving billboards or rickshaw announcements to promote a Wikimedia projects, such as Santali Wikipedia, at different places in a city. You can promote an online campaign such as Wiki Loves Monuments on Facebook, Twitter, etc using ads. You can also create gifs/slideshows or other easy to make multimedia files and use them to promote your project on social media.

This project will be a translation of HIV(AID) related articles to Hausa language. Henceforth, promote the traslated articles on social media channels i.e WhatsApp Twitter and Facebook.

The project will work on the likes of the following articles

There will also be Google meet up for participants who were not able to attend the in person gathering

We have made various contacts especially with the doctors on the field. Also, we made announcements on WhatsApp and Facebook for participants. Furthermore, the news is been spread on the community discussion page (link)
