Should this be a Project and Events Grant proposal?[edit]

Hello Nattes à chat and LaMèreVeille,

It appears that your project is focused on a series of editor outreach events to follow up on the Let's Fill the Gender Gap project. As such, this should probably be transferred over to the Project and Event Grant (PEG) program. Though we do sometimes fund editathon series through IEG, typically we only do so if they are piloting a new experimental approach. When the focus is on executing an established model, they are funded through PEG. That appears to be the case here, but please let me know if I have overlooked anything.

You can find PEG resources for planning an editathon series here. PEG submission guidelines are here.

Hi Marti (WMF), Thank you for your advice, that is indeed the case. I sort of get lost in the numerous grants and deadlines presented. However, the resin I went for IEG is because I had the impression that we could get finance for project management, and that is not the case in PEG grants. Am I mistaken? Will you be in Wikimania, and could we get some help during Wikimania to discuss how to continue building our project? We are relatively new in Wikipedia, and all this has gone so quickly. Our project has been very successful, we exceeded the number of participants executed, and as we did a close follow-up of our newcomers, and the local media coverage was extensive, we are finishing the project at the end of June feeling really happy but not really having the time to design a new project extensively. However, our different partners have been advised, and are supportive of the new direction, as there is as such actually no regular community building activities in Geneva or in the Suisse Romande area. We have actually asked WMCH to make an effort in this direction, and I think this will be followed in the future, as one event is organized today (but with only 4 or 5 people coming). Four our part, we will be aiming at retaining & building the community of over 50 participants who met during the lets fill the gender gap projects and also offering other possibilities to work on the content created during the workshops. our participants now want to be trained in Commons, and the articles are to be translated in English as a contribution to Women in red project. LaMèreVeille, I will be in Wikimania! I apologize for my slow reply to your question. I'm just seeing this comment today. If you would like to meet up in Esino Lario, please email me at mjohnson (_AT_) wikimedia  · org. I look forward to meeting you! --Marti (WMF) (talk) 14:18, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
