I understand the advantages of having more women administrators; but percentage quota systems have a fundamental vulnerability of either limiting the number of qualified administrators if an inadequate number of qualified women volunteer, or accepting different qualification standards for men than for women. (The olympics chose the latter path by requiring two parallel competitions.) This idea implicitly assumes women are the primary targets of harassment, while it seems likely other factors like ethnicity, religious beliefs, or political affiliation may be involved in many harassment situations. A balanced quota system including, for example, female Islamic socialist and transgender Native American Buddhist administrators would seem impractical. Thewellman (talk) 18:08, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- Strong oppose The premise of your idea is that simply having a male majority means that Wikipedia is unsafe for and bias against female editors. Such a sexist premise seems like a violation of Wikimedia's non-discrimination policy (https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Non_discrimination_policy) to me. The sole source you are citing as evidence of your premise does not seem quite neutral to me, and contains some questionable claims. At any rate, mandatory quota are a bad idea: competence, not gender should determine election into a position of Wikimedia's bureaucracy; if it isn't, you will a) end up with less competent electees and b) open female electees up to justifiable charges being elected for being female. --Doveofsymplegades (talk) 18:36, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
- Strong oppose Le harcèlement sexuel est une forme de harcèlement parmi plusieurs autres. Je crois que ce n'est ni la forme de harcèlement la plus fréquente ni la forme la plus violente (du moins sur wiki francophone). Et même dans son cas particulier, je ne crois pas que d'installer une discrimination positive soit une bonne solution.
- Traduction: The sexual harassing is a shape of harassing among several others. I believe that it is neither the most frequent shape of harassing nor no most violent shape (on wiki French speaker).
