This project follows the line in which we have been working in Nigeria as part of Wiki for Minorities. The potential to make ethnic minorities and people with disabilities visible in this Nigerian state would greatly help the entire wiki movement to fill the gaps and the intersection of several social problems gives added value to our volunteer work. Please consider this proposal and if it is necessary to make any budget adjustments so that can obtain the funds, do not hesitate to do so.

Strong support Strong support

This project will address an important aspect of inclusivity by highlighting the achievements and experiences of individuals with disabilities in sports, an area that often lacks the visibility it deserves. The project focusing on documentation of individuals with disabilities particularly is encouraging , as it not only captures the stories of these athletes but also contributes to changing perceptions and fostering a more inclusive environment. The emphasis on accessibility and contributing, aligns well with the principles of knowledge equity and knowledge as a service which is the movement strategic direction. By documenting and sharing these stories, this project has the potential to inspire others, challenge stereotypes, and contribute to a more inclusive representation of individuals with disabilities in the sporting world. --Akwugo (talk) 13:36, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

This project is more than unique, because it doesn't just expose my community the more, the strategies and activities outlined, combined with seasoned Wikimedians who are the brains behind the project, it will be nothing less than a trailblazer. There's adequate community engagements, proper outreaches and enlightenments. Asides being in line with the objectives of the Movement Strategy, it gives voice to the voiceless - the underrepresented disables, especially in the world of sports. I give my strong support #Goodymeraj (talk) 17:19, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

1. This project is important to our community with people with disabilities being neglected and underrepresented it's vital to create awareness and sensitize our community members of the need to accept them in the society especially through sports,it can be done through an outreach. Because that's the best strategy to get members on board for the program.

2.the outreach to underrepresented groups and the partnership is well developed and constructed.

3.it is focused on interesting research and learning and also tends to improve Wikipedia articles on people with disabilities and also on sports.

4.yes I do. It tends to achieve the wiki 2030 project aim.

5.the proposal and the plans tallies and proves achievable.it also will have a positive impact in our community

1. The proposal is important not just for my community alone but also for the Wikimedia foundation as a whole as it would help bridge the knowledge gap between the abled and disabled people represented. The strategies proposed will be successful if duly implemented because it involves creating awareness about minorities in sports and also teaching/educating those minorities about Wikimedia and how they can be represented in the foundation. 2. The strategies and proposed activities of this proposal I would say are particularly important. The proposal would not be complete if the minorities whom the project/campaign is focused on are left out. The proposal of outreach to those disabled minorities I would commend as very necessary and in the right direction for achieving the aim of the proposal. 3. The proposal involves educating participants on the various Wikimedia projects and how to contribute to them. The most interesting part being that the underrepresented groups will be educated also about Wikimedia and become involved in contributing to the foundation. 4. It's going to contribute greatly to both English and Igbo Wikipedia as articles about the target group will be created and translated. And also as part of the movement strategy, knowledge about the Wikimedia foundation will be brought to all. 5. The proposal is coherent in terms of its objectives, strategies, budgets, and expected results (metrics).

This project is important because of the inclusion of those with disabilities in sports. It says so much about the Wikimedia foundation which does not discriminate anyone regardless of status, tribe or country. This project will give those with disabilities in sports a sense of belonging and their importance in the society and world at large.

People with disabilities are one of the most underrepresented folks in the open knowledge space and this project aims to bridge that knowledge gap by highlighting the numerous achievements that they have garnered over time. I strongly endorse it. Timzy D'Great (talk) 11:12, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not Funded[edit]

Hello @Lebron jay thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed your application and after a careful review, have decided to not fund this application at this time. While the broader objectives of the project are nice to have, the actual goals and envisioned impact of the project is not clear. Additionally the budget does not align with the activities stated in the proposal.
