Grants talk:Project/Rapid/1lib1ref in the Philippines

Back to Draft[edit]

Hello brazal.dang, thank you for submitting this rapid grant application. We have moved it back to Draft since it was submitted outside of the application window; we only accept applications the 1st through the 15th of each month, as is explained in our Guidelines and Criteria.

You are welcome to change its status back to Proposed during one of our application windows. However, please note that in December we are only accepting proposals for Wiki Loves Africa grants and in January we are only accepting proposals for Art + Feminism grants, so the earliest you would be able to resubmit this proposal is February. We would recommend editing your proposal to only do the one session for May.

Thank you for your engagement with the Wikimedia movement. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 01:14, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from WMF[edit]

Hello brazal.dang, thank you for resubmitting your Rapid Grant request. It is great to see that you are running the #1Lib1Ref Campaign in the Philippines. I have reviewed your proposal and have a few questions and comments that I would like you to respond to.

  • In the detailed budget, what do you mean by “Documentation Expenses”?
  • Would you please link the preceding event on the proposal page? What are you planning to do differently this time to ensure a more organized event?

Thank you again for your contribution to the Wikimedia Movement! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 11:31, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello DSaroyan!

Thank you for your comments on this proposal. I have included the link of the previous #1Lib1Ref Campaign in the Philippines. The last campaign was not requested as a grant. We accomplished the outreach through other grant funding of the PhilWiki community.

  • The documentation expenses on the proposal refers to the rental of cameras to be used for documenting the opening event of the campaign.
  • For this year's campaign, I am planning to invite more participants since it will be funded through a grant. Also, I have requested it on an early schedule so that I will have ample time to disseminate information and get possible confirmation from librarians since they will have time to insert this campaign to their own personal schedules. I will utilize the Outreach Dashboard to properly monitor the adding of references to the Wikimedia platforms.

Request to move the event to January 2021 #1Lib1Ref Campaign[edit]

Hello DSaroyan (WMF) !

Greetings and hope you are well!

Upon mailing the current list of expected participating librarians for the May 2020 event, majority requested that the event be moved to the next campaign (later date). They are really interested in personally participating in this event as part of their professional development, however, their current equipment and data connection at home is not stable enough to actively participate in a webinar, as most of them is residing outside the city. With this, I would like to request that this grant be moved to January 2021 #1Lib1Ref campaign.

Thank you.

Best, Dang Brazal (Talk) 07:37, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
