Request to use unspent funds

Hello @DSaroyan (WMF), we have unspent funds totalling US$236 as noted on the report page. We would like to request to be allowed to use this amount to award plaque of appreciation and branded souvenir to the founder of the Project who started the project from scratch and continues to provide valuable advise and support to the project implementation whenever needed.

The total funds to spend is as follows:

1. 1 Personalized Plaque award - USD 90 - 100
2. 1 Souvenirs pack (WPWP-branded Water bottle, Jotter, Backpack, Pen, Shirt) - USD 100
3. DHL (cost of sending) - 40 USD

Total = USD 230 to USD 240.

The recipient is Olatunde Isaac (User:T Cells).

Hello @Ammarpad, I'm sorry but I cannot approve this request. Using 240 USD to create a plaque and then a souvenir pack for one user does not seem like a good idea to me. I'm recommending you to think about other ways to use the remaining funds. It shouldn't be directly connected to the WPWP campaign but can also cover other mission-aligned activities.

Dear @T Cells, I greatly value your contributions to this campaign. However, as I mentioned, creating such a massive souvenir and appreciation package for one user does not seem like a good way to spend the movement funds to me. DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:52, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
