  1. Seems, you are doing really great work :-) IMHO you proposal is perfectly prepared - so I have no comments to it and fully support it. Polimerek (talk) 12:19, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  2. I totally agree with the comment above. This is very-well prepared and my only comment is that this request should be approved. I suppose that February 2012 as starting date (it's already March 2012) means that you've started with the activities.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 18:36, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yes, we're constantly running like squirrels in a wheel. Also, we have been surprised by new projects falling from the sky (e.g. it's likely we have to do a QRpedia project in Tartu, the second-largest town in Estonia, as the city officials announced they wanted to do something about tourism and QR-codes, so we thought it would be wise to offer cooperation before they'd decide develop an expensive system of their own). Every other day, there is something new. --Oop (talk) 08:30, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Neat! And I like the concern about spending of taxpayer money! :)
In light of this, is anyone from WMEE subscribed to the cultural-partners mailing list? If not, I highly recommend that you subscribe. Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 23:17, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am in that list. Kruusamägi (talk) 14:15, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Someone, I guess, but I'm not really sure who - I haven't been involved with WLM much. It surely would benefit myself if I joined that list, but unfortunately, there's only one me, so I try to avoid it for a while. --Oop (talk) 18:33, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not from EE but would like to offer help with QR codes in the Botanical Gardens if that would fit into the picture. -- Daniel Mietchen - WiR/OS (talk) 23:57, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, that's a very interesting thought. We have mused a little about Tallinn Zoo, but yes, Botanical Gardens would be neat. We'll discuss it with Tartu city government and people in University of Tartu's Botanical Garden, let's see what they'll say. --Oop (talk) 18:33, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Tallin Zoo would be of interest to me too. Potential for synergy with the grant for Sofia Zoo. -- Daniel Mietchen - WiR/OS (talk) 12:27, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. I'm not sure if anyone connected to that project will be present on ChapCon, but I hope we could discuss it at least on CEE meeting in May. There is a lot of technical know-how that could be extremely useful for QR projects. (How big should the plates be? What material should be used for outdoor plates? What about protective shineless coating? To what extent could Wikipedia texts be used? Could varying coverage of subspecies and taxonomic disagreements become a problem? How high or low should codes be placed? How and where should information about supported phone models be presented? Etc etc.) Of course, we also have to beware spreading ourselves too thin but we can nevertheless start preparing future projects right now. --Oop (talk) 13:44, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do say if you need help with the QRpedia codes - I can tell you how its been done elsewhere Victuallers (talk) 12:26, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We're currently not that far yet, but we shall get there soon. Thank you for the offer. --Oop (talk) 18:33, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I made some small changes in the grant request. Kruusamägi (talk) 14:15, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am not on GAC, but I really do like this grant proposal, and hope it is funded soon :) --Bence (talk) 19:36, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm on GAC, and I read the proposal. I think it's not much money for the work they will promise. Only a question: have you own founds to develop some activites or you need to be founded by WMF for develop your activites?...--Marctaltor (talk) 00:20, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We have had some sponsorship for particular activities, mostly article and photo competitions (e.g., last year's Science Photo Competition ended in a little profit, about 2 euros IIRC). This year, we're holding discussions with potential sponsors, mostly for the Wikipedia conference. We also hope to engage local business community in a multi-level cooperation: getting photo donations, holding trainings on the dos and don'ts of editing Wikipedia, improving the quality of articles on economy, etc. If we can establish a mutually useful relationship, it will most likely improve our chances for additional sponsorship. And, as I mentioned above, we're aiming for cooperation with local government, too. Still, we're just starting with all that, so it might take a little time before having any tangible effect. Until then, we depend on WMF. --Oop (talk) 15:36, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
