CIS-A2K Reporting

[edit]

CIS-A2K since it got a grant from the Wikimedia Foundation in September 2012, has changed the reporting of its work to the wider community. It may be noted that CIS-A2K follows a different report structure in comparison to the one followed by the India Education Program.

  • CIS-A2K has published monthly Newsletters and circulated it widely to the community through the India mailing lists. These give an accurate picture of the CIS-A2K activities on a monthly basis.

Progress vs Plan (2013-14 Q2 report)

[edit]

Visdaviva, Thank you and your team for the quarterly reports. I am glad to see in general good progress in activities and the metrics in various langauge wiki's that you are working on. I would like to see the target for a specific quarter and the status as well as lessons learnt from the experience and also changes to the following quarters plans if any in a timely manner.--Arjunaraoc (talk) 07:16, 16 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the feedback and encouragement Arjunaraoc. We have worked on the quarterly reports more with an intention to track the progress against the yearly plans that we had set. We will be critically reflecting on the lessons and challenges in a detailed Narrative Report like this one. I do appreciate and understand the significance of your suggestion about setting quarterly targets. However, currently we are working with the yearly targets in mind and will definitely work towards achieving a specific quarterly level projections. Thanks again.--Visdaviva (talk) 09:37, 18 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Improving engagement with language communities

[edit]

Visdaviva, I would like to suggest that CIS takes responsibility for making the reports (language specific sections atleast) available in those languages for which CIS is contributing in a timely manner as it can help engage the language community better and lead to more productive outcomes. Organize language specific IRCs to discuss the reports and plans also would be helpful. --Arjunaraoc (talk) 07:16, 16 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Certainly welcome these suggestions Arjunaraoc. We are working towards making the quarterly reports on the focus language areas available in the respective language. In Odia we had IRCs to discuss with the community in the past, but not all language communities that we are actively working with are comfortable to come on to IRCs. We will try to encourage use of IRCs more in the future.--Visdaviva (talk) 09:44, 18 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

A note on the quarterly reports

[edit]

Despite the assertion in the quarterly reports section of the page, the quarterly reports are required to be posted on-wiki by the grant agreement (section 2a). While WMF agreed to accept the mid-term report in lieu of the first quarterly reports, the rest should indeed be posted on-wiki as they become due (the next one is due end of April, covering Jan-Mar 2014).
