Notes?[edit]

It’s been a week since the meeting. —31.22.108.229 15:51, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay! The fellow who usually does this is out ill, and it was an unusually dense call. Rather than relying on the notes we took during the meeting, we asked staff to listen and make sure they captured the conversation. We also had a fair number of follow-up questions. They should be posted today, though! --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 15:00, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

translate tag[edit]

@Kbrown (WMF): You should not place the translate tag before a # or *, but only at both ends of plain text, otherwise, please see the translated version of Chinese, now the question number is not presented correctly. —31.22.108.229 05:58, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected the tags, please confirm and mark my changes.—31.22.108.229 13:16, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
hell...—31.22.108.229 13:18, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much for the fix, anon editor! Kbrown (WMF) (talk) 14:04, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kbrown (WMF): Hello, I suggest that translation admins should check the source text and refrain from having lengthy translation units as it makes it difficult to fix/update them. Furthermore, when a user sees a translation unit that is so long, they'll probably just skip it or use an online translation tool, which is inaccurate most of the times. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 13:46, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Minorax, in this case it made the most sense to me to have each paragraph be its own translation unit, even though some of the paragraphs were long; if I tried to break it down further than that I risked losing context. I don't use the translation extension as often now as I used to, though, so maybe there's a balance I missed? I'm open to hearing how I could have done it better! I'm leaving for a few weeks of holiday starting later today, so if you spot changes that need to be made to this page, you'll want to ping the whole T&S team via user:WMFOffice rather than just me, so one of them can take a look. Kbrown (WMF) (talk) 14:04, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kbrown (WMF): Firstly, it's best to not include any markup or bullets within the translation unit. Paragraph breaks <p>...</p> can be used to split translation units into smaller portions (ref). The risk of losing context is rather low as Special:Translate sorts the translation units in the order of appearance rather than numerically. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 14:55, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And enjoy your holidays!!! --Minorax«¦talk¦» 14:56, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I heard that some questions may not shown by this page, where to propose additions?[edit]

For example, I heard from someone that they asked "So, another matter for me: How to join T&S (i.e. they really want to participant as a role member of the Trust and Safety)"? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 06:30, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Show fragile systems like SecurePoll more love re: tech debt"?[edit]

Are we sure this "question" don't have grammar eastern eggs? This question is grammarly illogical by any English variets. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 06:45, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
