Hello @Wikilover90 and Ле Лой:, as I am organizing the Wiki Loves Women South Asia 2020 editathon for Assamese-language Wikipedia, I tried to create a Fountain link for the same. Here is the link [1]. But for some reason it is not working. Can anyone of you look into it and resolve it? --SlowPhoton (talk) 05:32, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Wikilover90, Ле Лой, and Tiven2240: This is a follow up reminder. Regards, SlowPhoton (talk) 04:21, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hello SlowPhoton, we are pinging Le Loy for the same. Thank you for your patience and understanding. There is still a delay for the fountain tool. We will make sure it is set up by next week. Apologies for the inconvenience. Wikilover90 (talk) 09:20, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Wikilover90: Hope it gets resolved soon. Wikimedians in Assamese community are concerned about this and asking me for an update. It Fountain doesn't work, is there an alternative for article submission? --SlowPhoton (talk) 16:33, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hello SlowPhoton, if the fountain tool is not set up in the next 4-5 days, then we will set up Dashboard that tracks the articles within that category. Category ~ Wiki Loves Women 2020 can be used for each language edition. Hope this helps. Wikilover90 (talk) 16:54, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Wikilover90, SlowPhoton, and Tiven2240: @Nattes à chat: You can create a new editathon in Fountain tool. Also add some other organizers as judges. And tell the other judge to login into the tool. At the right top the user link will lead to Personal cabinet. There on the approval tab you can see the created edithathon. You can activate the editathon to use the tool. Pass this message to all the organizers and editors who participating this contenst. Hope things are clear --Ranjithsiji (talk) 17:38, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Ranjithsiji: who reviews the draft? --Tiven2240 (talk) 18:05, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Tiven2240: i have created a link for Malayalam and Ranjithsiji was able to approve that draft today.-❙❚❚❙❙ JinOy ❚❙❚❙❙ 18:34, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Gnoeee: can you create it for English keeping me in jury? --Tiven2240 (talk) 18:37, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Tiven2240: Yes will create for English. But i have tried it for Odia. But not worked. May be delay in with updating in server. Or else if you have added another Jury just ask them to check at here for approval.-❙❚❚❙❙ JinOy ❚❙❚❙❙ 18:43, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Gnoeee: I tried creating for Marathi. It shows me a 403 error.
@Gnoeee: Even fountain for Bengali is not working as well. Rajeeb (talk) 19:11, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Marajozkee: Bengali fountain tool is up now.-❙❚❚❙❙ JinOy ❚❙❚❙❙ 04:02, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Gnoeee: Thanks for the update. Rajeeb (talk) 05:52, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Gnoeee: Now odia, english, malayalam, assameese, tulu, kannada, bengali is up and running on fountain. Let's try for other languages and see what happens. If it is not working we can have a new tool for the project (work like fountain) --Ranjithsiji (talk) 02:49, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ranjithsiji: Thanks for making the Fountain tool up and running. I am trying to add more jury members in the Assamese language page. But I couldn't figure out how to do that. Can anyone help me with that? -SlowPhoton (talk) 03:47, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@SlowPhoton: Only the creator can add more jury members and modify the rules of the editathon. So you have to find the person who created the editathon for Assamese language. Actually I don't really know the internals of the fountain tool. I a trying to solve the problems. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 04:44, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Ranjithsiji:, I created the page on fountain, but I don't see any option to edit or add jury now. I even checked the Personal Cabinet section, but no option is there. -SlowPhoton (talk) 04:53, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@SlowPhoton: Personal Cabinet > created > click on the editathon you created. Then there is an edit screen about the variables of the editathon. That is getting me now. plz check.--Ranjithsiji (talk) 07:56, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Ranjithsiji:, Can you please give that link? Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 09:41, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@ZI Jony: https://tools.wmflabs.org/fountain/personal/created this is the link. Before go that don't forget to login. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 13:40, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Ranjithsiji:, Thanks, but I can't see any option for edit editathon! Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 13:54, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@ZI Jony: If you already created an editathon you will see the editathon list. Click on the editathon name it will openup into a complete edit segement. It was happened to me. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 15:23, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Ranjithsiji:, when that is on draftspace, when that will approve maybe can't edit. I've created for bnwiki which working, and urwiki (just now) which not working because it's still draftspace. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 17:11, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Ranjithsiji:, I got that should be /config. but showing 403 error! Do you have any idea about approval of creation of editathon, I'm unable to find that. Thanks! Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 17:27, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@ZI Jony: I think it is not possible to change the variables of a running editathon. I don't have an idea about approval. I got a button called approve in an editathon. We tried to recreate the situation and failed badly. I am now studying how this programme works and trying to create another tool that we can control. Still trying to solve problems. Don't know I can do it or not. --Ranjithsiji (talk) 03:36, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Regarding articles

[edit]

Hello @Wikilover90:, Is it possible to write women related articles that is outside of South Asian countries in this contest?--Meenakshi nandhini (talk) 09:51, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes Meenakshi nandhini, it is. Thanks Wikilover90 (talk) 11:13, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Develop a new tool for Assesment of Articles

[edit]

I talked with @Gnoeee: for the development of a new tool to use the judgement of articles like fountain. He said that it is a good idea to have a backup tool in case of any failure in fountain tool. So I assebled a small team and working on a new tool(identical to fountain) to judge and get the statistics of the edit-a-thons in Wikipedia. If you have any concerns please replay.--Ranjithsiji (talk) 02:46, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ya, it's good to have a backup tool. Currently the fountain tool has no option to Jury members to manage and modify. So every time to modify and to add new Jury members they have to contact the user who developed the tool. Since Ле Лой has not responded to the messages on his talk page and here it will be difficult to work on. So it will be good to have another tool for judging purposes.-❙❚❚❙❙ JinOy ❚❙❚❙❙ 04:02, 7 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Fountain closed?

[edit]

Hello @Wikilover90 and Nattes à chat: The description on the main page says the competition is live till 31st March. But the fountains wherein we submit our entires; like say for Marathi, English, etc. show that editathon has closed. Please clarify. Dharmadhyaksha (talk) 02:57, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@कल्याणी कोतकर and आर्या जोशी: the fountain link of Marathi Wiki is wrong. Please correct it in this table. Dharmadhyaksha (talk) 03:10, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Approval of 6000 bytes rule for Kannada and Oriya

[edit]

As per the local organizers - from Kannada and Oriya - request to keep the quality in check and facilitate the ease of the jury and the participants, the criteria was adjusted to allow 6000 bytes instead of 300 words and 3000 bytes before the start of the contest. This amendment was allowed in regards with the issues in the fountain tool in the starting week due to technical reasons. Regards Wikilover90 (talk) 08:57, 25 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Google Form

[edit]

Hello Organizers !
I got a message to fill google form for online claimable gift coupon (Wiki Loves Women South Asia 2020). Thank you for this. I participated in Hindi and Gujarati both and also get two different messages for concern wiki project. but i am only able to fill form once. so may i eligible for prizes with one google form ? Hope i can get two different prizes for my contribution on different language projects. --Vijay Barot (talk) 03:31, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Wikilover90 ! I received my prize money. Thank you for the beautifully designed e-certificate. I am also at third position in Hindi Wikipedia. so May I eligible for prize money? As i read on content page that the prizes will be distributed as per language projects that's why posted this query. --Vijay Barot (talk) 07:00, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hello Vijay Barot, thats right you will receive the coupon prize for that separately, which we will send shortly. Sorry to know that you faced this issue. It was the sign-in form to avoid repetition by mistake. It is rare for an individual to win top prize in two languages. We did not envision this but thanks for pointing this problem. We will take this in regards the next time. Thanks for your amazing contributions and congratulations once again. Our community is proud of you! Wikilover90 (talk) 10:38, 16 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

--ज्ञानदा गद्रे-फडके (talk) 12:30, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi ज्ञानदा गद्रे-फडके, I am Prize Coordinator from Wiki Loves Women South Asia team 2020. I am really sorry to hear about you not receiving your prize. This happened because none of the jury members responded to my multiple inquiries on wiki or social media about the winners from their language. It seems they were not able to complete the jury work in time and I waited for a long after deadline had passed but at some point, I had to close the project finances. We cannot make decisions about winners on our own if the articles have not been reviewed by local jury and the winners declared by the local jury like other languages did. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me on my email hardarshanbenipal.hb@gmail.com.
