"This page shares the Wikimedia Foundation’s preliminary perspective on a legal issue."[edit]

@Tbutoiu and JSutherland (WMF): The top of this article says "This page shares the Wikimedia Foundation’s preliminary perspective on a legal issue." However, I can see that the page was created by Tbutoiu, who does not appear to be a part of the WMF's legal team. Has this page been reviewed by any WMF Legal staff for correctness, and should the disclaimer at the top of the article be modified or removed? Thanks.  Mysterymanblue  04:34, 4 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Mysterymanblue: Hi there, Tbutoiu is indeed on the Legal team. Thanks. Joe Sutherland (Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 02:31, 17 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Scope[edit]

This page should be renamed - and the content adjusted accordingly - to cover similar systems to Zoom, such as MS Teams, and common video conference deliver platforms such as Venueless. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:11, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Clarity on Zoom UI elements[edit]

I think I have understood correctly that WMF Legal considers that images containing some of the Zoom UI might be Free (depending on what is in users' backgrounds and screenshares and so on).

If I have written a guide on how to use an aspect of Zoom's UI — so the UI elements are prominent and integral to the document — am I right in thinking that this probably exceeds the de minimis threshold and could not be uploaded to Commons? — OwenBlacker (Talk; he/him) 10:31, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
