Talk:Wikimedia movement affiliates/Applications Pipeline

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Please Note:
We are reaching out to primary contacts for Wikimedia Affiliates, with an exciting update and a request for your review and input to our latest strategies to increase the transparency of the applications for affiliate recognitions. We have developed this draft recognitions portal page using this category approach where any applicant/community mamber can check on the progress at an stage in the new affiliate recognitions process. Please let us know what you think about this plan and what if any concerns or excitements you have regarding the proposal.

    • - Are the category descriptions Clear and distinct?
    • - Are there any concerns about the level of transparency with any category?

Talk page inputs here are invited for the month of July through to August 10, 2019. Following this input period, the Affiliations Committee will review and update on the next steps for implementing full scale.

Great way to encourage transparency, diversity and accountability[edit]

I support this pilot and I think it's great strategy as we are moving towards 2030. I think more than transparency it will also encourage more diverse groups to participate as well as encouraging accountability to those affiliates who are lagging behind with their reporting, adding this page to my watchlist I'm gonna keep an eye on the progress of this page.Bobbyshabangu (talk) 08:25, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Space to support new groups formations and information[edit]

We support this portal as a space of transparency and information. Even in this beta stage, it is useful for our user group, Black Lunch Table, to see other Wikimedians organizing and with whom we may have project and interest overlaps. --Raggachampiongirl (talk) 16:49, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Additional level of information and transparency[edit]

As WikiDonne primary contact, but also as AffCom member I am so happy to see this page and this one, to inform the community about the committee's activity, the steps of the affiliation process and status of our affiliates. We really wanted this additional level of information and transparency. Thank you. --Camelia (talk) 09:35, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Add a timeline or (and) steps of the process[edit]

I propose to put a chronology so that those who are concern can see where is the level of the process. --Reda Kerbouche (talk) 11:10, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
