Talk:Wikimedians for Sustainable Development/Newsletter

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

System?[edit]

How do we set up this in a way so that it is easy to both add new content and archive it after it have been sent out? Anyone have experience from other mailing lists? Ainali (talk) 21:51, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Collecting featured content[edit]

I think it would be a very nice idea to collect recently featured content from around the projects to the newsletter. It would be a nice way of showing that we are making progress and that people are actually working on these topics. And with featured I mean all promotions in quality, whatever they happen to be in your project. Please help put that under the Content heading. Ainali (talk) 09:18, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Links[edit]

The current format with links put aside makes it hard to carry context given by the links(source, etc) over to the items. It also forces the reader to looks for links when one wants to navigate to the source. For me it's an annoyance but for users of assistive tech it must be much worse. Maybe classic MediaWiki references are an option? Abbe98 (talk) 10:33, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is meant to be easy to also copy into an email for the mailing list. So for now, I have opted for a formatting that will not break on any platform, since I am the only one volunteering to do the work. However, if someone is willing to give a hand to do reformatting for different platforms, I am happy to change the format! Ainali talkcontributions 11:14, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just saw the last newsletter from the spring, amazing!![edit]

Hi @Ainali: Just noted to Phoebe that this is the nicest newsletter I've seen on wiki :) I'm sure it's not easy to maintain, but THANK YOU for maintaining it and to everyone subnmitting to it. Any little tools that would make this easier? I never developed anything for newsletters back in the day... –SJ talk  03:05, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
