Talk:Wikivoyage/Logo announcement

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Thank you for this kind and thoughtful update. Looking forward to the logo contest! SJ talk  01:53, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could a Meta admin activate the translation on this page? (I already translated it in French locally, but I don’t know what is the behaviour if I put it on /fr and then the translation is activated.) ~ Seb35 [^_^] 11:28, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to, but there are some translation-related things that could be improved before marking it for translation. PiRSquared17 (talk) 11:31, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Is it okay? PiRSquared17 (talk) 11:38, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'm sorry I forgot to do that. :( I marked the accompanying document and didn't realize I'd neglected to mark this one. --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 13:23, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! That’s great, it doesn’t matter anyway it was activated some hours later it could have been. Important thing is it is activated. ~ Seb35 [^_^] 21:29, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Page title[edit]

"Wikivoyage/Logo announcement" seems like a strange page title for something like this. I tried to move the page, but apparently don't have sufficient permissions.... --MZMcBride (talk) 14:35, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think it should be called? --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 14:47, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure. It doesn't really seem like an announcement, per se. When I read "Logo announcement," it makes me think that a logo is being announced. Depending on the eventual purpose of this page, including a year might be helpful. "Wikivoyage/2013 logo redo" or something? This is a trivial issue, though, and it is probably not important enough to worry about. --MZMcBride (talk) 20:53, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's a good point. Maybe we should give the whole discussion thing a little more time to play out and then move it? --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 19:02, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Copy of cease-and-desist letter?[edit]

Hi. Is there a copy of this cease-and-desist letter available on Commons or wikimediafoundation.org or something? If not, can there be? I know we post DMCA requests. This is functionally equivalent, right? --MZMcBride (talk) 14:37, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if it makes a difference, but we generally post DMCAs after they have been completed - this one is midway. That said, I'll ask. :) --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 14:49, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What does "completed" mean in this context? Rich Farmbrough 18:41 4 June 2013 (GMT).
What I mean is once the content is taken down. --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 18:49, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deadline shift: end of August[edit]

Hi. I am absolutely delighted to let you all know that Michelle Paulson has gotten us some additional breathing room to agree on a process here. :) She is out until Thursday because of being subpoenaed as a witness in a trial (unrelated to WMF), but has been persisting in talking to WTO about the possibility of extending the end of July deadline we already had. We now have until the end of August. Obviously, this gives us considerably more time to work out the best process here and get things in place. I'm so grateful that Michelle continued working on this and that WTO is being so very reasonable about this timing. :) --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 22:02, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
