Offline access
[edit]Anne, are you in touch with User:Walkerma of the English Wikipedia's w:en:WP:1.0 team? He is interested in and knowledgeable about offline access for Wikipedia, which you talked about at Metrics today. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 20:39, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks Whatamidoing (WMF)! I'm not in touch with User:Walkerma yet, but looking forward to it. We've been more focused on delivery platform than content, but looking forward to continuing to deepen our understanding. User:Walkerma - I would love to connect sometime soon (after I've read up on your documentation). AGomez (WMF) (talk) 01:01, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- Hi. Much of our documentation is quite outdated, since our main projects were 6-11 years ago, but in recent months we have regained a small but very active group again. If you're attending Wikimania, please consider attending this hackathon in w:Potsdam, New York for which I'm the host. In your video you mentioned DocJames/WikiMed and Kiwix, and all of these folks will be attending (including Emmanuel Engelhart). We hope to end up with code that will allow people to easily produce custom offline collections from en:wp (and probably also fr:wp). Walkerma (talk) 21:41, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
