Bulk questions[edit]

Hi ho. Could you tell me where i can find this info, or help me if you have it ? It's late, and I am thinking about this now, so just throwing in the questions as they come.

  • Whether the Haus der Jegend provides with audio/video system, if yes what ? beamers, microphones etc.
  • 2 or 3 possible locations for a party (send me website, I'll take it from there) so I can ask for a minimal budget.
  • Confirm whether we can choose diner/lunch for 8,60 € meals at HdJ and whether people who don't say for the night can eat, if yes, how long in aedvance do we have to "reserve" ?

That's all for tonight :-) Thanks ! notafish }<';> 01:53, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Press contact details[edit]

If you are receiving this message, you are either a new, existing, or possible future press contact for one of the languages you speak. What does this mean, being a press contact?

The Wikimedia Foundation runs a Communications Committee, which co-ordinates requests for interviews from the press. When we receive a request for an interview, often the journalist wants to interview someone that speaks their "native tongue", or someone that lives in the same country as their publication. For this reason, it is important the the Communications Committee keeps an up-to-date log of contributors that they can trust to represent the community in a professional manner.

This list of press contacts has started to grow. The goal is to eventually have at least one trusted user on the list from every country in the world, and one user for every language that the Foundation runs a project in.

What are your responsibilities? Whenever a journalist requests an interview, either by phone, by e-mail, or (rarely) in person, you are able to either answer the interview request, or pass the request off to another user that you trust. Whenever a newsworthy milestone is reached on your project, you should help co-ordinate the creation of a press release, and once it's ready, send it to me to post in your language's press room.

Any questions, comments, or concerns? Contact me directly. -- en:user_talk:zanimum

Business cards[edit]

Hello, I am trying to put together some graphic designs for the swedish chapter Wikimedia Sverige. Can you give me some input for business cards since the visual identity guidelines are a little restrained on this part. Ainali 16:16, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please send an email to Delphine. She should have template files for letterheads and business cards. -- Arne (akl) 11:41, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain its source and license to avoid its deletion. Thanks.--Jusjih 04:25, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moin, Akl! Liebe Grüße Jens Liebenau 11:36, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia CAT[edit]

Hello Arne,

in order to unblock the situation of Wikimedia CAT chapter, we have clarified and simplified the proposal at Wikimedia CAT.

We would highly appreciate that you could take a look at it and kindly give us your opinion at Survey. If you consider so, you can also express your support.

Thanks in advance. --Gomà 10:10, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Venezuela[edit]

Hello,

I am writing to ask you a question regarding the status of our still pending request of Wikimedia Venezuela to become a local Wikimedia Chapter. We have started gathering people and ideas since October 2010, organised a series of lectures for Wikipedia TEN. Our proposed bylaws have been reviewed by members of the ChapCom as early as May 2011. We were informed that in June-July 2011, our proposal was scheduled to be submitted to voting and, as of October 2, 2011, we are yet to receive a notification, either approval, rejection, suggestions...we have received only silence. What is going on? What has delayed the ChapCom to close the voting on our case? Working groups in other countries have submitted their proposals/requests to form a local WikimediaChapter more or less at the same time that we did, and they have been approved already. Why not Wikimedia Venezuela? What is wrong with us? If we were told what is wrong with us, we could work it out and fix whatever is needed...but with no input, we are left sitting in the waiting room for months..

Could you please tell us what is delaying our approval? What do we have to do?

Our people (37) is anxious and wondering what is going on. We were more people, but we feel dissapointed and discouraged, and this doesn't help us at all. Could you please give us an update?

Many, many thanks in advance from Venezuela.

Already saw it, but thanks for the info! -- Arne (akl) (talk) 11:57, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. When you uploaded File:Wikimania banner in conference hall-simulation.jpg, you did not specify complete source and copyright information. Another user subsequently tagged it with {{GFDL-presumed}} and, for some time, it has existed on Meta-Wiki under the assumption that you created the image and you agreed to license it under the GFDL. This assumption, however well-meaning, is not legally sufficient and the tag is being phased out. Images using it are being deleted. This image has been tagged for deletion and will be deleted in one week if adequate copyright information is not provided.

If you, personally, are the author of this content, meaning that you took the photograph yourself or you created the chart yourself (and it does not use any clipart that you did not create), please retag the image with a free image copyright tag that correctly describes your licensing intentions, usually {{GFDL-self}} or {{PD-self}}. Please also make sure if you have not already done so that you write a good description of what the image depicts, when you took the photo, and other important details. This will allow Meta-Wiki to continue using the image.

If you did not create the image or if it is derived from the copyrighted works of others, please keep in mind that most images on the internet are copyrighted and are not suitable for use on Meta-Wiki. Meta-Wiki respects the copyrights of others and does not use images unless we know that they have been freely licensed. Any creative work is automatically copyrighted, even if it lacks a copyright notice. Unless the copyright holder has specifically disclaimed their rights to the image and released it under the GFDL or another compatible license, we cannot use it. If you did not create the image, simply do nothing and it will be deleted in a week.

Please feel free to contact me on my talk page or leave a message at Meta:Babel with any questions you may have. Thank you. Green Giant (talk) 06:57, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
